a lot of debutants, rookies, young players start out in early games looking like they're worried about getting in the way, or they're not sure they deserve to be out there at all ...
edwards looked like after he'd been out there several minutes, starting to grin, thinking "oh sh1t, yeah, i can do this!"

I was happy to see him use his huge kick several times during the match once he'd settled in and the team was on top. I lost count at three that came close to reaching the centre line.

Honestly he exceeded my expectations, which weren't exactly low to begin with. Looked confident, took the game on, used his size and showed good physicality.

Also very impressive the way his first touch was a pretty poor dropped mark and clearly he didn't let it get to him at all. Just got better as the game went on. Absolutely stoked.

He's a massive unit. Looked cool under pressure. Skill execution was good. Made good decisions.

He'll be a player for sure.

So impressed by him tonight. The best thing is our defence has lacked size in recent years but he looks like a big, strong unit. Just what we need for bigger forwards.

Nice debut. The size defender we're crying our for, obviously you don't expect him to be it in his first handful of games.
Nice call by Cox and co though to see and actually take the opportunity to blood him against a weakened KF line up so he could be eased in playing on other young players.

Edwards size and height excites me (197cm!). It's shameful to admit but I didn't realise we were developing a defender of that size in our reserves. He did a few good things tonight. As a bonus he's from Sydney which gives us no go-home factor.

We should absolutely give him a few more games this season. Then we have more depth down back. More importantly we can let the Liz off the chain.

What a great season this has been so far. Entertaining.

Of the next three games only North have two dangerous keys in Larkey and the inexperienced Trembath. Dees and Pies are scoring more with their smalls and mediums. It will be interesting to see if Cox leaves Big Will in for a while. I would.

I want to see him get a kick out next week and just go straight down the middle I reckon odds would be paying 1.90 for him to kick it into the centre circle thats how much of a roost he has on him

Bloody brilliant debut for the lad. Looks to be a good one.

Surprisingly mobile for such a massive human. Good composure and judgement at key moments when he settled into the pace of the game after quarter time.

Edwards playing such a good debut game makes the make up of the rest of the defence interesting for the time being. Firstly he’s keeping out two tried and true veterans in Melican and Hamling which is nothing to sniff at. And secondly it in a way might solidify Rampe’s place in the side as a veteran to usher him through alongside as another key with McCartin now clearly the main man down back. Edwards surrounded by veterans and leaders in McCartin, Rampe, Mills, Blakey is a really good environment for him to learn in.

Gotta give it to Rampe too, I was really worried about how he’d look this year but he’s started the year really well. An utter professional in every sense of the word.
