Even if he plays a JLT game and is fit for round one i’m just way to worried about his body and future injuries.

If he lasts long enough to determine who the clear R2 is for the season, then thats job done (he can also potentially be that R2 if he goes over 100 again)
In 2016 and 2017 he played 21 games each. So at least he has some track record of being durable over a season.

He’s also played 16 or less games a season in six of his eleven seasons.

It’s be huge if he could go over 100ppg but in all fairness he’s only had that one good season, that’s the only season in his career that he’s averages over 90ppg.

I admire the optimism but a big bloke who’s now starting to get older in age, had a interrupted preseason, has a track record of some pretty serious injury concerns is just not someone I can entertain.

Yeah I agree - you will lose a lot of points if he is a late withdrawal. Better off doing set and forget with Stefan Martin who rarely misses a game or having a crack with English who has ppg upside. Minimal upside and a lot of risk with Kruezer.

Don't get me wrong he's still an injury risk, and i'm certainly still on the fence with him
But people like to paint the image of a guy that has never completed a full season. He's gone 20+ games 5 times in his career so he can manage stints where he doesn't get injured. Obviously the probability of that decreases with age.
That 100ppg season was only in 2017, so its not as if he's trying to recapture form from 5+ years ago.

Risk/reward selection I guess. I will observe how he looks in JLT

Gawn - Geez has grown in popularity (19% ownership) FWIW thats similar to Zerrett and Heeney on 22%
If Preuss isnt named round 1 going to be hard to not pick him
Goldstein - Seems the real safe pick, potentially even upside. I cant see him playing with any other ruck. Id expect to see B.Brown used as a minor chopout

English - I kind of like him, its just risky with a midpricer

I cant see him playing forward with Marshall, Dixon and Ryder already down there and does Jack Watts fit in somewhere? At worse i think i see a 92-94 from him.

Could be wrong but I believe Dixon is likely to miss games in the early part of the season, or is racing the clock. PAFC27 can you shed light?

I guess there is risk but I can't see how he would move clubs if he didn't get reasonable assurance with his role (form permitting obviously).

I think he is easily good enough for the 2nd ruck role.

That is definitely possible, but I don't think that is the case. I think they are/have changed their structure to include Pruess.

FTR, highly doubt I pick Pruess unless he looks brilliant in JLT.

However, depending on how long he is out for (with Sandi basically indefinite gone) then Jones (320k) or Meek (170k) will get a chance and may be worth a look.

wonder in Hoff may play more forward while he misses, potentially score a bit less and then be a shrewd pick up for cheap.

If he averaged say mid 80s with more time forward, most would think thats the expected slide for him and maybe overlook his value. But a role change with Dixon returning could free him up and if that happened, bringing him in would be great to provide ruck cover in later part of season but having him up forward.

Heard it was iced up and a little worse than precautionary. Pissed right off as I thought he was going to be that red hearing at R2 this year

will know soon enough, assuming he doesnt have an aggravation if he plays JLT1 means it was nothing at all, if he plays JLT2 then extremely minor so id still have no concern, missed both then get the white out out (wonder if half this board even knows what white out is, does it still exist)

Our ruck coach heard trying to pump up Jones and Meek this week because Grundy.

Heard it was iced up and a little worse than precautionary. Pissed right off as I thought he was going to be that red hearing at R2 this year

He had a scan and that came back "better than expected" but that is fairly vague. I reckon minor strain and 3 weeks. Doubt he plays round 1 without a pre-season game.
