During trade period I had the opinion of not trading the pick, so glad I warmed up to it.

THANK * WE DID
Well trading #1 hasn't been done for more than 20 years, so most of the football industry agreed with you; after the JHF black hole, things couldn't have worked out any better

Sam Landsberger in the HS questioned this morning whether its too early to call the Rising Star race over with Ashcroft as winner.

Sorry, what?

Sam needs to start watching North games because Sheezel is absolutely in this race.

Daresay he’d walk that back, that article was up before our game.

Please keep him at half back

After 200+ games of utter panic from Atley every time he went near it’s so soothing having Harry there
I just wanna see him forward or in the middle, for pure curiosity. If he’s this good at half back when he hasn’t even played there, imagine what he can do where he’s used to!

Does not get flustered under pressure. Absurd footballer

Should be nicknamed Ice - just doesn’t panic
There were times he was about to be tackled and instead of panic handball to nearest teammate he spots someone up by foot.
If he’s this good at half back in only his second game ever in the position- I can’t wait to see him up forward

What was the actual trade? I understand the jhf trade was separate to our number 1 pick?

Genuinely don't understand why West Coast agreed to this. Effectively swapped pick 2 for picks 8 and 12, lose a valuable small forward in Rioli, and get Port's late picks next year, while also giving up pick 40 this year? At the very best they break even, did the other 3 clubs a huge favour

Have a look at their draft hand next year.

Willie Rioli and West Coast were done as well. He was basically steak knives.

Ginbey.

Wouldve taken him with their pick 2 as most Vic players were flight risks and they believed ginbey was top 5 pick anyway.

So a bit like us, got the player they wanted anyway plus extra.

So it seems like GWS and West Coast both just decided that as long as they get the players they're after and a slight pick reshuffle, they're happy to gift JHF and Rioli to Port and us a club-changing top draft hand? Aren't they worried about having to play us a few years from now? I don't quite see the sense in allowing another club to attain an advantage like this, if all they're doing is breaking even. It's not going to matter if a few years from now, they can't win a flag because the Wardlaw/Sheezel dynasty or Port Horne-Francis are standing in their way.

As much as fans want to win trades or see other clubs lose, don't think list managers etc see it that way.

West Coast got pick 8 and 12 for pick 2.

So instead of just ginbey

They got ginbey and 12.

GWS really wanted Cadman but West Coast probably wouldve taken him with 2. So they got their man as well.
