Ryan Cook is pathetic with or without legal charges.

This.
He's just not good enough. Someone mentioned the 2008 final vs Adelaide, wasn't that the one he missed a goal from a set shot 10m out directly in front? He is not overly quick, he is not overly hard, he does not use the ball well, he is bad overhead.
No weapons for me, move on list clogger.

Don't we need Stanley for the VFL team? Can we just demote him?

Does that really matter??.. the vfl team is more for the development of collingwood players and or finding form. It's a bonus if they win.. who really cares about a VFL premiership as long the team is playing well and making it hard for the senior players to keep there spot.

The VFL-listed players care, as do the staff who dedicate their work to helping them succeed. The VFL team is not just about the development of Collingwood players - although it helps - it's also a standalone team to help us experiment with game plans, players and provide another avenue for coaches to develop. A VFL premiership would be a fantastic reflection of the effort these guys have been putting in, especially in their 3rd year of competition.

Mate at the end of the day you couldn't care less if we won a vfl flag or not as long as the collingwood listed players are playing well!
If you really cared back in the day when it was the curtain rasier the stands would have been full from the first bounce, not rocking up at 1.30pm when the games are done and dusted!

Don't be stupid, of course we need the VFL team to go well, for many reasons, but the main one is because when Collingwood make the finals, the last thing we want is our depth players losing match fitness.

The VFL team should be aiming for finals every year at a minimum, that way when the Pies make the eight, the VFL players will be keeping their match fitness up.

Really if thats the case how did geelong go in the reserves this year? and i agree you need the vfl team going well but only the players that are in the collingwood squad not the hacks that are making up the numbers!

For those who watch alot of VFL games, a question. Is Stanely any better or worse than say Prismall? I cant believe we couldn't get at least a 3rd rounder for someone who picks up a fair few posessions. I thought both players may be similar in how they play and in so far as, they quite couldn't crack it in the 1st's.

Difference is every time Prismall got his chance at AFL level at Geelong he racked up stats and showed composure & was playing behind a superstar midfield. Poor Danny was like a rabbit in the headlights in his few appearances, and has not been able to dismiss the 'working class' likes of O'Bree and Johnson.
You have to take your chances when they come at AFL level and unfortunately, as good as DS has been at VFL level, he didn't manage to do that, so his currency was worth nothing at trade.

Fair enough, thanks.
