Haven't been this nervous about a single player's pre-season since TT last year (did not go well, you might recall)

Young defender Josh Goater has received another setback after experiencing calf tightness during Sunday's VFL game against Geelong.

Goater, who returned to action earlier this month following a long spell on the sidelines with Achilles, quad and hamstring issues, was removed from the game during the first quarter at Arden St.

"Scans have revealed a low-grade calf strain which will disappointingly put a handbrake on the momentum of game exposure after a difficult year," White said.

"He will have a light week while that strain recovers before we reload once again once symptoms improve."

He's a constant blip.

Worth another year but after that is pushing it unless he proves his body is up to it
Give it rest. Frequent soft tissue injuries immediately after long layoff are very common. He just needs a good preseason and he will be cherry ripe

Lol

Its not my fault he cant get on the park...
The bloke is perennially injured and as stated above, deserves another year on talent alone.

I just don't like his chances. His body just doesn't seem up to it.

It's no coincidence that both he and CCJ are experiencing the same issues post their achillies tear. We should take some professional advice as it seems our rehab team may have made a mistake or two somewhere in failing to load some key muscles during the rehab process.

Hopefully a full preseason will fix it
