12 games in 4 years.

What are you basing your rainbows and lollipops outlook on??
He's had one serious injury and is still coming back fro it, before that he played most of a season in the VFL and half nearly half the next season as well as 10 games in the AFL.

The first game of the next season was last year when he did his achilles.

It's no coincidence that both he and CCJ are experiencing the same issues post their achillies tear. We should take some professional advice as it seems our rehab team may have made a mistake or two somewhere in failing to load some key muscles during the rehab process.

Hopefully a full preseason will fix it
Like most aspects of the club, we are simply amateurs with recovery.

Peter Jonas for the old timers 😏😁!!

Remember Jonas in a VFL game at Arden St cutting loose and it looked like he was going to be the next Blighty. Ended up as Donald McDonald.

Another one that didn’t come back well after a serious collision was Maurice Boyce

Last year for Goater in 2026. Lucky to get the contract extension in some ways. Is one game in AFL where Goater played a shut-down role on Toby Greene in Rd1 2024 vs. GWS was that much a factor? Achilles injury he sustained vs. GWS in Rd 2024, seems to have really hampered him in multiple ways. Suspect the club will definitely draft 1 (of not 2) half-back(s) in 2025 AFL Draft in the event that Goater does not prosper in 2026. Looking grim, unless he has Levi Greenwood like revival in 2026.

We need a minimum 3x inside, clearance only mids, will struggle to look at a HB.

I remember seeing Furey player - cruelled by injury - bit like Peter Jonas - could have been exceptional players
Remember Furey kicking five in a quarter at Arden St under JF Kennedy, and at the quarter time break JFK went nuts at him, " no place for those spectacular marks, play in bloody front". I thought crikey, tad harsh he's on target for a 20 goal day, then the clouds opened and the whole area flooded, good times as a youngster.

Moti Season Review:

Rating: C

Probably deserves a B because he managed to play but injuries cost him so he underperformed. Best part of his year was seeing him play and not noticing any loss in athletic capacity. Could be the big 26 breakout player

Pre-Season focus: Pigs blood, strengthening the body

Projected 2026 position: AFL defender

Having struggled to get on the park this year, Goater has jetted off to Aspetar, a sports medical clinic in Doha, Qatar.

"He's with club physio Liam Phillips undergoing an intensive week of assessment, testing and education led by renowned practitioner Dr Enda King and his team," White said.

"This expedition will look at enhancing our approach to programming for Josh in search of greater durability and robustness moving into the new campaign."
