Seedsman was "useless" because he didn't have a coach who believed in him. If we gave him the proper belief and development, he would have been great for us.

Seedsman also cops allot less attention at Adelaide because he's down on their list of damaging outside runners.

Utter nonsense.Buckley persisted with Seedsman for a number of weeks in the latter part of the season despite his appalling form.
Seedsman was banished from about after the West Coast game from memory. He may have played one or two more games but he was not persisted with.

Your view reflects my point. If someone doesn't perform well, they are automatically written off and they shouldn't be played. We need to develop our talent and give them confidence, not criticise them or drop them as soon as they make a mistake or don't perform to expectations.

I know for a fact that the playing group is fed up of the constantly negative feedback they received from the coaches over the pre season. Whenever they did something, instead of giving them a pat on the back, the coaches always said they wanted more (despite whatever the players did). This gets grating after a while and can cause players to drop their heads - sort of like what has happened now (who would have guessed it).

Cloke is someone who should have been a great but has been the victim of bad coaching. He's always had a terrible ball drop. Under Malthouse, coaches were blinded by his ability to kick goals from outside 50 and thus concluded his missing of sitters was a mental issue. Thus his technical issues weren't addressed.

Despite his kicking skills, by the end of 2011, he was probably the best centre half forward in the league. He played a similar style to Riewoldt - continually leading up and back. Due to his size and strong hands, he was awesome on the lead, where he took a lot of contested grabs. He also took a lot of one on one contested marks when he doubled back into space. He took the occasional pack mark, but it was usually when running at a pack rather than standing in it. Then 2012 came around and his role seemed to change to that of a stationary target who stood in the middle of a pcak, wrestling. I reckon this was terrible coaching. I reckon that they looked at his contested marking stats without looking at them in context.

Ball Drop? That’s part of it. The man is more rigid than a steel fence post taking a shot on goal. He leans either one side or the other. The only time he looks fluid taking a shot is when he wheels and goes and doesn’t think about it.

Glad to see him have a run in the molly magoos.

Even ignoring the 2 goals, he had twice as many possessions and hit the scoreboard twice through behinds. He was totally absent in Round 1...completely MIA. Last week, he provided more.

He still did FA. He did nothing a key forward should do. But if you think a guy paid to take contested marks, present, and actually chase the opposition had a good game then good for you.

Here's an article that will be in tomorrow's Herald Sun. I have cut and pasted the article for people to do not subscribe to the paper.

COLLINGWOOD should consider trading Travis Cloke if it can’t fix his form slump, former coach Tony Shaw says. Cloke, 29, will sit out Monday’s Anzac Day blockbuster for the first time since his debut in the showcase game in 2005 after being ordered to play in the VFL at Victoria Park on Sunday.

American Mason Cox will make his AFL debut in Cloke’s absence. Cloke, who has kicked just 8.10 from his past 10 matches, was believed to have received some harsh internal feedback during the week.

Shaw said Cloke’s omission should send a powerful message to the underperforming Pies. “It doesn’t matter what reputation you’ve got or how good you’ve been, you’re going to pay a price if you don’t play at the level,” he said. “I don’t think it’s a bold move, I think everyone felt it might have been coming.

He’s 29. If it’s not working now and you thought it wasn’t going to work and you could pick up two draft picks, what do you lose (by trading him)? “I would’ve thought he’d finish his career at Collingwood, but I’ve seen stranger things happen.”

Dermott Brereton said it was too early to write Cloke’s AFL obituary, but didn’t rule out a move from Collingwood. “He’s got a lot more to offer. “Put it this way — if he wasn’t at Collingwood I reckon he’d be the king pin at someone like Fremantle right now. “He’s still mobile, he’s still fit and he’s still got a good pair of hands. “He never was a good kick, so you can’t take that off him. “He’s too good to be in the VFL. If he’s not getting a game at Collingwood and that continues on then he’d definitely be better suited elsewhere.”

Former premiership captain Nick Maxwell said Cloke had not adapted to Nathan Buckley’s game plan. “Mick (Malthouse) was a real boundary coach and that was pretty predictable for Trav,” he said. “At the moment the Pies aren’t predictable at all. They’ve had 16 or 18 different players go through the backline in only four weeks. It is different, it’s a different game plan.”

Cloke’s contract expires at the end of 2017. He was expected to open talks mid-season and seek a three-year extension. Those talks may be put off now.
Cloke left training early on Saturday, declaring: “It’s my opportunity to go back to the VFL squad and get a kick, and see what goes from there”.
Yet Blair still gets a game

Even though he shouldn't be there, I'll be supporting Clokey today, and several others who should be back next week versus the Eagles.

Hope is not lost, it's just confused in a pile of shit at the club at the moment.

If bucks gets sacked... and Cloke gets a recall after his standard afl performances in the vfl... then i'll find a new sport.

Cloke has been hopeless. Bucks had to drop him. Best idea ever.

Cloke isn't performing well by his standards in particular but is it really the best idea ever.

We now put a massive load on Darcy Moore who has struggled this year. The kid has only ever had more that 10 possessions in an AFL game twice. Has only kicked more than 1 goal twice and has not scored a goal in 6 of his 13 games. His back up will be Cox who doesn't kick many goals or get many stats in the VFL.

I am excited by what Moore and Cox may turn int in 2-3 seasons time but I sense we are feeding them to the dogs here. Only good thing is they go against the weakest backline in the comp so may not get mauled. Still we have increased our chances of losing in what seemed a certain win a few weeks ago.

If we do alright against the Dons which is still likely and decide to take Moore and Cox to Perth the following week that's when things will get really ugly. More likely it will be Clokey who gets to miss the game where he could have got some confidence back will be asked to come back to carry us in Perth.

It's hypocritical though
Yes and no. The message Bucks is trying to send is that it doesn't matter who you are, if you are not performing then you are out. So Cloke is the example. Blair has been inconsistent but he has played some reasonable games in the past 15 games. Whereas Cloke has kicked 7 goals in his last 11 games and 6 of those goals were gifted handballs. Furthermore, he did nothing in the 3 pre-season wins.

Last year is irrelevant Blair has been probably our worst performing player this year. He has to pay the price

If you are going to quote facts don't be selective. Wellingham had one good season with us and was spasmodically good at best. This is his 4th year at WCE and his first two years were crap. Seedsman had one very good game for us and was useless before and after that game. Does this entitle him to stay in the team for how long?. We lived in expectation of better things but they weren't forthcoming. Cloke has done nothing for 3 years. I like Cloke but just because he played in a premiership does not entitle him to keep getting a game when he can't buy a kick. I like your passion however, as one of our onfield leaders and main forward, he needs to set the example and with 7 goals in the past 11 games and five of those goals were from handball receives from the goal square, he is no where near where he should be.
But you surely know, that once any player leaves Collingwood they automatically become terrific players.
No players ever leave any club only Collingwood.
I even heard a rumour we lost the GF 2002 because of Buckley.

I'd rather express my displeasure in a way that gets across to the club instead of just copping these ridiculous decisions from club management year after year.
Don't think the club knows you even exist.
Call Ed, tell him.
Why waste time on BigFooty?
Tell Ed, he makes the decisions.

We all vote with our feet in terms of memberships and showing up to games. These things clearly are too far above your head.

I am sure you are right.
I'm too simple, I just don't live in such a negative head space.
I barrack for my team unconditionally in good and bad times and every thing in between.
I will try my best to reach your levels of understanding, I'm a work in progress.
I thank you for your role model behaviour.

I watched Cloke closely during the warm-ups, he took shots at goal from various positions and distances and hit every one of them. While his technique isn't the best, his goal kicking issues during matches must be mostly between the ears.
