Not a fan of cutting careers of premiership players. It only makes sense because we need the list space after signing up so many mediocre players but the reality is he probably deserves another year, even if it’s just as a back-up.
I get the sentiment but not the logic... We need to pump games into the kids

I get that too, I have heard ppl on here say well he wasn't taking a kid spot this year with all the injury we had, well they just answered their own question.

We seriously need to get games into the younger crop we have 20 players under age 22. we likely to get younger again with the upcoming draft.

Great speech from Macca and sums him up as a person. You know how much he means to the club when hardman and stoic Nank can't even look at him... Qnd Shorty wiping away the tears got me.

Have had the privilege to meet him several times due to Bigfooty Player Sponsorships and bonded over our mutual love of WA and reminising on what we miss (The winter weather, the fishing, Spearmint Chill and Chicken and Cheese Sausages). He was also super polite, friendly and always remembered my name.

Was often unfairly maligned on here, but we were such a better team with him in structurally. His athleticism, hunger to hunt ball and man, gut running and overhead ability really straightened us up on a wing. Reckon he won or halved a lot more contests than he outright lost.

Him leaving Judd in the dust for his first goal was truly a highlight. Made a Future HOF look second rate. We had genuine stars in Jack, Dusty, Cotch, Edwards and Rance, but Macca patrolling the wing and outlet kick certainly helped Rance and Astbury a lot by forcing the oppo to kick long. Much like Cotch, he sacrificed his game for the betterment of the team and it's needs.

He is the ultimate example for the younger kids on perseverance, dedication and commitment to improve and to put the team first. He should be super proud of everything he has achieved as he has deserved every accolade.

I would love the club to keep him in an off field capacity. Maybe as a Player Morale officer or in player development. I really think the club is a better place with him in it and I still think he can contribute to the club in an off field capacity and we would be better for it.

Genuinely AA form in 2020. Him and Pickett won us that flag, the defensive threat they were on those wings in that year was ****ing immense, teams couldnt get past them, and if they did, they would run into the brick wall defence.

Some dumb people in here who watch stat sheets and supercoach points over actual games, always has been

I remember when he was on the outer with Dimma and looked gone early on, but he fought it out, got back in the team, and stayed in. His work rate never questioned his ability, yes, but every club has players like this that do a job, and he was the one for us. Good luck, Boldie, and looking forward to the work you'll be doing, housing people.

I forgot he was 5th in our B&F in 2020, after watching his speech and him saying he was fifth and got the KB medal.

I said in another thread McIntosh didn't get close to a top 5 in our B&F after an Eagles supporter mentioned how we are playing mostly senior players and he will be up there in our B&F 2025. oops lol

Kamdyn, spent over 100 days away in Queensland in 2020. The first thing he posted on social media when he got back to Melbourne was a video of his dog's reaction seeing him again.

There was nothing pretentious about KMac. Gave it all on and off the field for his teammates. Wish him all the best for the future, was the ultimate club man.

Great honest footballer. Not a great footballer, but did all the things required and more to get the best out of himself.

Had his ups and downs, but stuck true and now has 200+games, 2 cups and most notably it seems to him, his name on a locker forever.

Loved how he lined up against his man and just pushed them every time, relentless, like his running. He should be proud, but time to go and give way for the next generation, I'm sure he knows that.

... and, his kicking was never as bad as many on here carried on about, for one thing he didn't miss many goals when he got a chance. Had a good year all up, good way to bow out.

The loudest voices on here proudly advertise they’ve got NFI. If self-awareness ever hit them, they’d need therapy. Always angry, always whining, always desperate to play the victim.

Was fortunate to sit next to him during a Sponsor dinner and I couldn’t speak more highly of his character

Instead of talking about himself he asked questions about the sponsors around him and showed genuine interest in our lives, he remembered and brought up things from previous convos over the years

Even after the night had finished and players had been ushered away to end the event he was still sitting at the table with us just having a chat despite him being tapped on the shoulder and told to wrap it up

Just an all round good bloke and great clubman

I’m sure he’s left a great impression on our young players and laid the foundation for our strong culture off field to continue

Long 20-minute Speech, emotional.

Kamdyn's message to the group

Go inside today’s team meeting as Kamdyn McIntosh delivers a heartfelt, emotional message to the playing group.

The bit where he talks about understanding he would best serve the club by accepting his role as the "role player" and some of his best games would be those where he had minimal possessions and stats was really cool.
The vital importance of the role player.

Goes to the heart and core of the Richmond Man persona, the whole is greater than the part, that's culture 101 right there.

Not sure we realise what a hole he will leave in the fibre of the club, not many others there that I can see that will immediately pick it up.

Had a similar interaction with him at a Sponsors dinner.

Anyone else look up how many players wore the number #33 after his speech.

I used to have #33 on my old duffle coat back in the Cloke days :tearsofjoy: but i left my coat at the G one day and went back to get it but it was gone. The old man was pissed at me big time. (Probably a good thing in hindsight after Cloke did us the dirty).

I completely forgot Matty Knights wore #33, he was one of my favourites so i felt bad forgetting that.
