Maybe those guys are just no good, hence why they've slipped past 70+ picks now.
Yep. I'm a fan of both Szybkowski and D'Aloia but every club has had a lot of chances to take them and they haven't. Probably for a reason

Given his intercept marking is his 1 wood, is he sort of like insurance if Ridley goes down maybe?
That's my guess.

Seems an ok pick talent wise.
Not sure its a huge pressing need

Redman, Kelly, laverde, ridley, heppell, mcgrath, massimo, cox - all have AFL exposure
Yeah, it is a very busy position right now.

I think we have painted ourselves into a corner in terms of finding players for our needs.

Clubs are very hesitant to take specialist inside mids late because they want to reserve CBAs for players that are either elite mids or players that could become elite mids.

If you want more grunt you have to use early picks on it.

Another defender isn't necessarily a bad thing. The way I see it is that now we have:

Tall: Zerk, Reid, Hayes, 2x Stewart/Cox/McBride
Medium: Ridley, Laverde, Kelly, Montgomerie
Small: McGrath, Hind, Redman, Lord, D'Ambrosio

That's 14 defenders. Meaning that if everyone is fit, you have 7 defenders in the AFL and VFL. 2 talls/2 mediums/3 smalls AFL and 3 talls/2 mediums/2 smalls in the VFL.

The best Rhett since Rhett Biglands?
