Flies in the face of the whole selection integrity notion from Yze TBH. Don't reckon he'd be coming in if we were playing against any other team in the league (bar Norf).
I suspect the inclusion is to share some ruckwork which is a fair ask for a debutant but we re playing a rookie side too

Interesting he hasn't really dominated the VFL and gets ahead of Ryan. Am i missing somthng in his games during the VFL that is better than Ryan?

How are freo tracking ? The 2 rucks obviously don’t work from them

Their issue is playing both Darcy and Jackson as if both are the number 1 ruck.

Just looking at last weeks numbers (both Jackson and Darcy played the full game), Darcy took 58% of all ruck contests, Jackson took 31% of all ruck contests and Draper took the remaining 11% (only in the last quarter, where Freo were doing some weird stuff where Jackson became a midfielder at ruck contests instead of the being the ruck). Compare this to every other "first" ruck that played in the same week:

80%+: Xerri, Marshall, English, ROB, Gawn, Flynn, Nank, McInerney, Witts
70%-79%: Goldstein, Sweet, TDK, Cameron, Grundy, Briggs, Meek
Less than 70%: Blicavs took 50% of the ruck contests for Geelong, but Stanley was subbed out in the second quarter which distorts things.

So all things being equal, Fremantle the only team that gives their "first" ruck less than 70% of all ruck contests, and by a long margin.

Even looking at last night, the quarter by quarter break down of ruck contests for Darcy and Jackson looks like the following (no other player for Fremantle took a ruck contest in the first 3 quarters):
Q1: Darcy with 14, Jackson with 12
Q2: Darcy with 11, Jackson with 18
Q3: Darcy with 8, Jackson with 10

To me, its quite simple: as long as we don't think Sims splits ruck time 50/50 with Nank, then it's not a problem.

The best teams just don’t play 3 key forwards, not this year and not historically. The only team in the top 8 that plays 3 is Adelaide I believe.

Need some nuance to the Adelaide fwd structure. Probably moreso at the start of the season when the narrative around this was at it's peak, but Adelaide actually play 3 tall fwds as well as a ruck on the field at any given time, with a 4th tall on the bench.

You'd see Tex, Thilthorpe and Fogarty as the talls with ROB in the ruck, and then when ROB goes off, Tex, Fogarty and Curtin becomes the tall fwds with Thilthorpe being the ruck.

I'll be very curious to see how many times we see all 4 of Lynch, Faull, Sims and Nank on the field which would replicate the Adelaide structure you mention. Having 3 of the 4 on the field at any time is probably more than fine for our structure.
