West Coasts lack of pressure was pretty evident compared to what we cop playing any of the top sides. Surely Sonsie playing well next week against the Pies playing for top spot now would mean infinetly more, the opposition surely matters.
I just hate when the goal posts shift for certain players. West Coast were every chance of knocking us off before the game and now because we beat them considerably "they're a rabble" and he needs to do it against a good team.

It's clear that some just hate for a living but I guess that's the way the world is right now.

Let's see how he goes against a Pies side that will relentlessly pressure him.

Was very good last night against a garbage team.
He’s yet to get to 50 games along with many others, yet he’s still getting written off, just amazing.
Yze even mentioned him in his after match presser and said he wanted to get players like him to the 50 game barrier, when they should be ready to play consistent footy at the level.
Supporters need to take a chill pill judging players early into a career. In Sonsies case, he was outstanding in his junior years and seems to be taking a while to bring it to AFL level. Just needs to play at the level and he will find his feet, no doubt, imo of course. His skill and footy smarts/vision look ok to me, just patience required.
Can he fail, yep, but too early to assume he will, again, imo only.

I said he was good but lets see how he goes against a better team and everyone seems to be getting worried about him failing this week.

Yze has done the right thing giving him games to build his belief and hopefully we will start to see the fruits of it.

So just focus on the negatives then it seems.
Has had two positive decent games in a row, not proving anything there with a 2 game sample, agree, but if he has a bad game this week, he’s back to delist? Pretty harsh judges imo.

Saying he was good is focusing on the negatives? 2 decent games where 1 of them the coach subbed him off which kind of proves the point that he hasn't been very good at all until Saturday.

In fairness if he's back to the fumbly, error prone player when the heat turns up then yes questions will be asked of his list position and Yze will probably sub him again tbh. Personally, I think he gets a 1 year deal.

For me he hadnt looked the same since he lost his cool and punched the North bloke in the jaw when he wasn’t shaping up to him.
Lucky to get three could’ve been double that.

Last week he looked crestfallen but credit to him and the coaches for getting up and ready.
Thought when the game was there to be won or lost he was right in amongst it.

Maybe its not all over for him just yet.

You can say that about the entire team though. If we get thrashed practically every player probably will have stunk it up. So then singling him out will be unfair.

Funny how that was the take away watching his first 10 games or so , then once he became embedded in systems and structure he battled to show us his wares , last 2w I reckon he’s shown us what he has to offer , time and space and good user of the footy . Hope he can play out the season like this, he’s a creative player that sets things up
He had time and space then as we were still a good team. Last night he had time and space as well.

Hes got miles to go but it was a good start.

Would love to see Sonsie play on Sidebottom

Yes he will get cut up and side ass is a class act but i would be telling Sonsie this is what we are aiming for you to become for Richmond
Josh Daicos played first three years in the vfl with alotve doubters, 17 senior games in 3 years and 35 at the end of his fourth year.
This is Sonsie’s fourth year in and he’s at 35 games now with 5 to go for the year.

Got a feeling if he makes it through big part of it is because he thinks the coaches believe in him, could end up a player that feels like he owes the coach.

In the Sonsie thread you probably wouldn't.

By the comments made by Yze, it sounds like Sonsie will get a new contract
I thought he was gone for all money before last week's game. I'd be very happy for him if he got an extension and hopefully he does as I think he has something to offer at AFL level.

Alex Neal-Bullen is a good template for Sonsie to work towards

All it took was for you to get off his bandwagon. 😁

Is that the same as when you and others tell us that you think 'we are big chance this week' or are capable of matching it with Team X or Y' but come out on Sunday and Monday and tell us, 'oh, we were never gonna win that', or 'people don't understand where we are at'?
Talk about shifting goal posts.
West Coast are miles off us and even North and their effort insipid.

I don't recall ever doing that...
