After watching the recent inside footage of the draft

RFK says Unwin then Archer Day Wicks. So either we thought he was definitly gone before our pick or im not too sure

Hes growing on me a bit with his latest footage. Solid in a lot of areas. Kicking action maybe the reason for this guy not being considered a national draft option as the port guy with intel said SSP/Rookie was likely

But then i see his kicking penetration, he can step/dance around and at times shows a good turn of foot in some of those videos and we know his size, accumulation ability. Plus his ability to come at the ball and finish is a bow to his string that some of best players in the comp have

Interesting prospect, happy to have a throw at the stumps with

We probably got him a bit later than he was forecast here, but sounds like he's not the most balanced player, which is probably what AFL clubs are looking for higher up the order.

Later on you can take a guy with some clear AFL standard traits (kicking and IQ) but with a few deficiencies that might mean he never quite makes it at AFL level.

I agree, I think he's got plenty to work with if he can translate it to AFL level.

It reminds me a bit of Brayden Ham's draft profile;

Sometimes even if a player has some really positive traits, it doesn't translate well to AFL level.

The most promising part is that he's generally regarded as a good, reliable kick, and a high IQ player. That's very Zach Merrett.

Was touted as a super deep draft rather than incredible top talent wasn't it? That should equate to decent AFL players picked up later in the draft, and if so Rosa's work to get a handful of later picks as well as high future picks may end up proving to be a savvy move.

It was a very even top 20 or so I recall, not sure if that meant there was a bunch of second round tier talent push back into later in the draft though

Can range from a bunch of things to upside to the way he interviewed, professionalism. A lot of reasons why players slip and a lot of them aren’t to with what they produce on game day

I think a lot thought he was a bit vanilla and the fact that it was an even draft that looked to have more depth than a number of the previous drafts.
