I like his attack on the ball/man, but if you’re going to make it as a small forward who only touches the ball a handful of times, you can’t afford to be that untidy when you do get it.

Won the ball in the back pocket that lead to our first goal. Does enough with less game time than most. Shake your heads.

This 100%. Have seen him fumble and drop easy marks. Worth persisting with, is still very young.

Our top four PA players were Wardlaw (20) and then FOS, LDU and him with 18 each. He also had four tackles. Its noticeable that his pressure and intensity generates turnovers even if other players are the ones to gain stats out of those turnovers.

some of the reactions on here are ridiculous like comparing him to turner🤣🤣, he’s played 12 games in one of the worst sides in history, he plays one of the hardest positions on the ground and he is still doing a lot better then most of his teammates, does some really nice things that go unnoticed

shown more in 12 games then turner did he whole career

Young small pressure forward in a weak side goes missing for parts of games, I am shocked to be sitting here.

Desperately needs a partner like Banch.

Has far better disposal than Turner.
He's a trier. He had probably my favourite play of any North player this year when he dived full stretch to lay a smother and then knocked it on whilst on the ground. But he has real problems being where the ball is consistently.

We've panicked with him, RHJ and Payne. Maybe Banch too, but I haven't seen him play yet so I'm hardly going to write him off. It does feel like we've identified we didn't have any good small forwards so just threw darts at the board in hope.

If he wants to be long term he needs a **** ton of guidance to learn what running patterns he should be taking in order to stay involved. He doesn't have a natural knack for it and that's a tough situation in a position where you don't get much ball anyway.

If we turn him into a two way small who maintains the defensive mania, he immediately becomes top 4 or 5 at the club in importance

Turner was a valuable player. The problem was when we tried to extend his role and the side as a whole was in decline.

There are many ways to impact a game and develop and they don't all involve getting it 30 times a week.

To my eyes Jacob has a long way to go but is contributing the defensive effort he was rated for. Noticed he was also stationed a little further upfield, maybe to stifle some of the HB movement more than immediately create scoring opportunities.

First real year of AFL footy. Going to be inconsistent, you only have to look at Kako to see that drifting in and out.
Just keeping pumping games into him and the offensive involvement will slowly build as he gets more confident.
A partner in crime would be good to see as well like Cooper or Banch.

Difference between Kako and probably Watson before him is they are much more talented than Konstanty. Konstanty is already at his second club despite his first club going through a rebuild right when they could be giving him games and is largely being carried.

He's big effort, minimal impact.

He's played 12 AFL games you melt

Says the guy melting becaue we don't lavish praise on players just for wearing blue and white.

I take your point, however unlike the other three blokes JK was a top 20 draft pick who was fairly highly rated in his U18 year. He must have some degree of natural talent which may still come to the fore with more games I suppose

All R1 picks. No doubt Watson is more talented. Kako should be more talented at pick 13 vs Jacob at 20.
Konstanty left the Swans because Longmire wanted him gone (Mills thing) and had Papley, Hayward etc.
He had a pretty bad leg injury last year. So far Kako has had about the same impact as Jacob this season.
Kako has had more touches, but less goals and tackles per game. I think Jacob's footy IQ is a bit better.
Jacob might not work out, he's all effort, but I think a lot of his contributions go unnoticed.
We've got to give him more than his first real season at AFL level.
If we find someone who can bring his pressure level and can hit the scoreboard at the same time, then great.

Nostrils would have you believe that everyone who's ever gone in the top 25 has talent to burn in the big league. Konstanty is still rough around the edges but ofc the only way we'll get anything that's there to get is by playing him, so we'll see what happens I guess

6 of them were turnovers. He has just replaced Turner

The entire forward line need to wake the **** up. I50 tackles is pathetic.
It’s harder to get I50 tackles when the ball is never I50, though.
P.S. I’ve checked the tackle stats from the weekend. You’re correct, it was abysmal I50.

Very true but our i50 has always been so poor.

Jacob provides insane pressure acts but we are comparing it to players that barely tackle or put pressure on at the best of times.

What he is doing is an expected or standard of any small forward tbh. It’s not special and if you can’t mark or influence the scoreboard (the real pressure) then you are just another Turner.

I don’t hate his efforts, but **** me I wish someone like Larkey (he had 0 pressure acts at one point) and others would show the same. Plus 10 disposals (only 4 of them weren’t turnovers) with 0 goals is not something we should be happy about. No reason why we can’t just give Cooper a run instead. One game
