For me we needed a big midfielder (Carmichael) more and there aren't any available at the end of year. Half backs are much easier to find end of year IMO.

Not going to pretend I know anywhere close to the amount you know about these players but isn’t Carmichael more outside?

Sure we need big inside but we have Langford, Durham, Cutler, Cox as tall outsiders.

Again more a question for you than questioning you.

This Richmond obsession we have going on is a bit cringe but he reminds me a bit of Hind and it might be the pairing that we need to get the best out of both of them. My only concern is injury-proneness and the struggle to adjust to AFL level but we'll see. Good luck to the guy.

Nathan Buckley or Jason Akermanis were probably the only ones as good that I've seen.

Are they CBA clearances? Trying to remember who, was it Harlequin Dream who said Carmichael is not as inside as those stats suggest when you see him play?

Interesting Carmichael dropped so many places in any case.

Good luck to the kid. Won't know what he's capable of until he steps out there. Hopefully the his profile translates to him being a good player.

Question I have is why did we not rookie a player like him last year but picked up a Garret and passed on him given his profile. Strange that so many clubs can miss him seeing he's been a great performer at VFL level.

Not your typical inside bull, but is more than capable winning contested ball and can wear physical pressure. Gets to the outside thanks to his running capacity and is most damaging when using his long kicking.

Im not going to pretend to be a draft expert but there are already a couple in eDPS Top 20. There are also plenty of examples of best 22 midfielders found later in almost all drafts.

A bit surprised that we didn't go for Carmichael, would only make sense list management wise if our glut of half back flankers gets seriously cut end of year
McDonagh gone
Heppell to retire
Cutler probably gone
Hind has already re-signed, Redman playing well recently
Also suggests to me that they believe McGrath is best suited in the midfield
