Im not going to pretend to be a draft expert but there are already a couple in eDPS Top 20. There are also plenty of examples of best 22 midfielders found later in almost all drafts.
Wait, are you calling 186 cm big? Because it isn't big. 186 cm is mid sized. I'm talking Bont, Dangerfield, Dunkley, Fyfe size. Not Cotchin, Worpel size.

Petracca and Wines aren’t big?

What you’re actually talking about is weight.

186 is big enough if are heavy/broad shouldered. Just need to naturally carry over 87-88kgs and be compact.

For what it's worth I would have been happy with him, but I don't think he's the Oliver/Wines hard feeder brute type that we need.

Good luck to the kid. Won't know what he's capable of until he steps out there. Hopefully the his profile translates to him being a good player.

Question I have is why did we not rookie a player like him last year but picked up a Garret and passed on him given his profile. Strange that so many clubs can miss him seeing he's been a great performer at VFL level.
Because his game significantly improved with another preseason under his belt. Dominated for western, dominated for the young guns and played well in the vfl, so he gets picked. Same can be said for culley who was on no ones radar last year and yet he’s the first one taken.

No id consider 187cm+ big. The post I originally quoted you on though was that there'd be no big midfielders available at the end of the year. You then said there'd be no good big midfielders available at the end of the year. I think there will be as there is every year. We both agree the midfield needs reshaping, if they dont start to address it this offseason we'll both be unhappy.

He will kick it over the midfield and actually to our forwards.

4 minutes of the little fella ripping our VFL team a new arseh*le

There were a whole lot of turnovers in that highlights clip, especially kicks in the front half. If our VFL side were any good we might even have scored from some of them!
Hopefully I'm just being harsh, don't really know what to expect from him.

I don't know how you can be like 186cm ain't big but 187cm + is big. If you saw a 186 cm guy next to a 187 cm guy 10 metres away you wouldn't even know which is which unless you already knew their measurements.

186.5 maybe 😉.... the point of my convo with eth-dog was that whatever you consider a big mid, they will be there in the National draft. The midfield balance needs addressing. That we didnt go for a quick fix and jump at the first available mid 187+ from the MSD isn't a complete shock.
