Release sufficient personal information so jurors can be identified and pressured/threatened by family, friends and cultists.

I think about this a lot whenever I do think about politics and the US. The only reasonable answer I can come up with is its a combination of misinformation/propaganda from Fox, FB, Twitter and the conservative media sphere, and rusted on political mind sets. You can plainly see the deflection and projection in their and GOP announcements. Look at how Fox is attacking migrants and Trump's jury. It is a very powerful tool aimed at those who aren't particularly aware of things going on in the world. They don't change the channel on their TV much for news. They don't understand how the media algorithms flood their feeds with BS because they paused over a post. They are passive consumers of BS. They don't talk about policy in anything approaching actual or specific terms. It's mostly culture war crap. It's a study in the power of media.
Then you have the family/community pressures to be in one or the other tribe. It galls me that people swear lifelong allegiance to a political party. Or indoctrinate their children into one. Turning politics into cults is a massive problem, I fear is a part of the human condition. These types also do not consider actual policies. If either party began to change and go in the opposite directions, these fossilized voters would change with them unthinkingly. Media propaganda feeds this.

That sort of crap being thrown at you every day, especially the lies about things that might actually move the needle in some people's minds, will generate a lot of inertia and apathy in voters. Hence they still vote for a clearly insane and dangerous candidate.

Corporate capture of the government is systemic and evil cancer. Cynical power grabbing is as well, as evidenced in the support Trump is now publicly getting from donors and party heavyweights.
You average Joe Prole doesn't stand a chance.

Can you provide some examples of where Trump has been honest/truthful, AND then his policy or actions have been consistent with the truth he has spoken?

While trying to stay away from unfounded conspiracies like the election being stolen.
