Dominated at WAFL, and dominated at VFL.

I didn’t think he was as bad as what same made out at AFL level, but each to their own.

I remember watching a video of him in his first year, almost questioning why he wasn’t in the side. Ironically I think it might have been his debut announcement video, but I could be wrong. Get the impression attitude played a big role in this.

Have no doubt that either Perth team would have a crack at him. WC would be crazy not to, bring him home, and sign him for nothing.

Hope he goes well

It was obviously very strategic by the club on why he didn't play that final game to trigger an extension so I'm not surprised he got delisted.

I've heard around the traps he wasn't well liked by the playing group, could be another reason to mutually part ways.

Will be solid at the Eagles while they KPD stocks are basement low.

I was just coming to post similar, apparently clashed with coaches also.

Maybe a little too much FIGJAM?

What was he doing to make the playing group not like him?

i think he was very opinionated to both the playing group and coaches alike which didn't go down great considering he'd actually achieved at the time very little ....

As I mentioned in the list changes thread Blight was worth keeping as insurance. Can play and we seem to have a large group of players that get injured often. Good Depth is needed. Don’t care if he wasn’t liked.

If he works out somewhere else it will be seen as a massive f-up.

He appeared to have every key attribute to be a elite defender - but despite all that he hasn't been able to break through and the club didn't seem to want to put much time into him

I dunno mate
I think he looked alright but not as good as it seemed at 1st glance

Defensively he lacked imo and was just really decent as an intercept player that we have plenty of already, plus his ball use was pretty bad
Especially by foot

Granted he was flexible and could swing around the ground but we have younger and more talented options

Would have got something in a trade. Bit if a waste :drunk:

No we wouldn’t.

If you trade for a player they need to go on the primary list as I understand it. No team is sacrificing a primary list spot for Blight.

Even if you could, West Coast are the only team foreseeably that would want Blight, and why would you give up assets if you’re the only team that are in the market?

Im not against the decision & accept "they would know better", but, if Blight goes on to be an AA defender, then we clearly got it wrong. He looked like he had all the natural attributes to be a very good Kpd is my only point & if we eventually see those attributes lead to him becoming an AA - then thats on us. Im not expecting him to be, but, if he does, i certainly cant say i didn't see his potential. His potential has always been pretty obvious in regards to athleticism, strength, leap etc

It might be one of those players who is better at the VFL level, or many players before him in terms of playing in our backline. Who knows, it could also be the go-home factor.

Can you achieve AA playing in the WAFL?
