Says Gus's dad is staying at a home in Adelaide owned by Shannon and Josie.

Also says,

'However, a source close to Jess told Daily Mail exclusively that Yunta locals believe the grieving mother is in hiding'

Dad of missing little Gus breaks cover as hunt takes its brutal toll

Mr Lamont was pictured on Tuesday looking distinctly more pale and thin than older photos, his red hair and beard flecked with grey as he appeared to be going to work dressed in tradie hi-vis.

I would be looking EVERY DAY, not 'in hiding'
Hiding from what?
The media wouldn't stop me going on my own property looking, searching, for my lost/missing son.

Yes true. My Grandson is just starting kindy at his local school, he was straight over the school fence (fence is official height around one meter) they cannot keep him in! The school has had to request funding to put in a higher fence to keep him in (he's not the first to escape, but the most 'enthusiastic' ).

It's commonly known he doesn't get along with the grandparents and he's probably furious. You can see how gaunt he appears to have become since Gus went missing.

It's probably asking for real drama having him on the property and we've all seen how potentially volatile the situation is.

Yes it was reported that the Dad did search for Gus with a friend early on. As Josie remains on the property with her rifle, it's probably for the best that Josh stays away.

The DM got a couple of pics of Josie and Shannon’s red ute in town the other day. There was at least 2 dogs in it, so imo they love their dogs.
I don’t see a dog lover risking blowing up snakes on a porch at close range with dogs around. Otherwise are we expected to believe Josie is some kind of reckless redneck shooting shit at her house with no regard to anyone’s safety?
I’m kinda also surprised the loved family dogs didn’t find little Gus. Same with the sheep, they are curious animals and alert to anything unusual around, but maybe there are none that close to the house.

I guess when you look at this from the point of view that many on here do that this is not just a kid wandering off but something more sinister then yes the silence is a huge concern.

I still feel it’s a case of the kid wandering off and has perished and they simply haven’t found him due to having no idea which direction he went so any searches have simply not located his body. In this scenario I don’t see why the family speaking to media would be of any use. In the other scenario, I’d definitely be expecting the
family to be reaching out to the public.

If the police do suspect foul play I’m assuming they are keeping it quiet waiting for potential “family” suspects to slip up. Would love to be a fly on the wall in this to actually know what is being said behind the scenes.

WAPOL conducted forensic searches on Cleo Smith’s family home more than once in the first 2 weeks. They also took several items away to be tested, so I wouldn’t say it was completely focused on a possible abduction.

I agree this case is very different, in fact it could be one of the only publicised cases of a small child vanishing without a trace on an Australian outback station in recent times.

Yes. The red cattle dog is called Molly and I think there are 4 dogs in total at the homestead. They might come out with the grandmas when they tend to sheep. Molly would go out with Josh when he was working at Yunta.

That’s a good point!! Were they all inside when he was outside or did they help Jess and Josie with the sheep 10km away that day??

I would have thought if you don’t have a babysitter and you out your kid outside, giving them a dog babysitter would be better than nothing.

I actually remember people still blaming Cleo’s parent’s , all sorts of horrible rumors about them but yet they still appealed for help and did everything humanly possible to cooperate the situation.

The oase that comes to mind is kiesha Abraham’s , her mother appealed through the media then turned aggressive towards them and it was a little while before Keisha’s body was found and they were charged.

In the case of Charlise Mutten all I remember was her mother glaring at the media while Charlise was still missing because she knew more than she was letting on at that stage.

Good question that I can’t answer. But there is also no evidence that he was taken or there was an accidental death.

Correct someone many posts ago mentioned until we actually have an independent last confirmed sighting of Gus we are never going to be able to have a timeline to work off

Surely sapol internally are trying to verify this ? As each day passes it’s getting less coverage, sapol seem to be making no inroads and all it does it put another asterisk on 1) sapol and 2) south Australia as being the state where weird and dangerous things occur and the premier is more worried about lobbing grenades in the Holdfast mayor about jetty road trading
