Pretty sure the Dogs saw in Daniel the same as what we are seeing now, that he can't defend and moved him forward of centre.

With Blamires / Hardemann down back, I don't even know why we'd want to play Daniel there.

I'm not saying this is the answer, but I'd even rather swap Konstanty and Daniel on the field. Konstanty will defend properly and Daniel is capable of reliably kicking a goal from 30m out and kick the ball to a forward in space.
