#6 Brodie Grundy – Melbourne legend

His salary is not a problem for Port; where Lycett is on $650K and is out of contract.
The issue is does Grundy wish to return to Adeliade.

My money is on the Pies taking him back.
0 chance Collingwood take him back

North board pretty keen. Goldy, bless him, is cooked. Xerri might be the worst player in the entire AFL.

Don't see how he makes any sense whatsoever for a rebuilding team, but by all means, you can have him

Surely North just give Goldy another year if they need an experienced ruck? Culture/leadership and all that benefits too, presumably.
North have had a lot of close losses this year. Not inconceivable that they push for the upper half of the bottom 10 next year and finals the year after. Clarkson would no doubt be keen on an experienced star, as he was his whole career at Hawthorn.

Regardless, Grundy came here because he wants a flag. Can't see him going anywhere but Port next year, maybe Geelong.

Lets get this trade done now. Send in the danster.

We’ve lost 19 straight. 11 of 75 odd. Any upgrade in any position is a must.
Fair enough – is Grundy really an upgrade over Goldstein though?

Obviously the club has to take some responsibly recruited a #1 tap ruckman when we already had the best one in the league. But unfortunately Grundy has never been able to re-capture his best form from a few seasons ago. My sense is that he came to us begrudgingly and obviously never wanted to leave Collingwood. Now he looks absolutely miserable and perhaps some of that is warranted, but there's no value in continuing to have him in the side. Has probably played his last game for Melb (unless something happens to Gawn - at which point the season's effectively over anyway)

60% game time. His lowest for the year. What was even the point of having him in the 22?
Don't think we went in thinking he'd play that amount. He spent most of the second half on the bench when we moved Smith forward.

There was a ball up in the forward pocket at one stage and Trac took it, surely either Gawn or Grundy should be taking that or theres no point having 2 rucks playing in the team.

What can Port offer us LOL

Would have been better if we played anyone but Grundy, ruined Gawn's flow

his last game for the club should've been 10 weeks ago, but apparently Goodwin is a genius for dropping him. But then this 'genius' was also the same game that brought this spud straight back into the team.

The thing that sh1ts me most about the Grundy acquisition is that his presence will almost certainly cost Gawny his 7th AA blazer. Tim English will probably get the nod but does anyone think Max wouldn’t have smoked him with 22 full games as our No.1 ruckman? No way.
