Didn't he come back from injury and our rocket science coaches threw him into the ruck.
He has not missed 34 games in the last 2 seasons because of OP.
That doesn't mean he hasn't had OP or an OP like problem.
The industry is not looking at what is in plain sight. Dainher started 2018 like a busted arse. There was a limp in his running gait and he had no power, acceleration, etc. He was playing with all of the hallmarks of someone who had been robbed of his core (which is what happens when you have OP of which there are degrees).
At the start of 2019, he played two NAB games without incident. While he didn't set the world on fire, the whole team was flat, he did some little things, bursts on the lead, a screamer and kicking for goal that wasn't hooking but fading (i.e. right to left the way Buddy does). He looked heavier than he ever had previously.
He gets injured during training which results in another 6 weeks off. He then comes from absolutely nowhere to play on Good Friday (having not even been in the squad).
His play in the next 2 games (with a short turn around to ANZAC day) is basically party time Joe. His game against Collingwood against Moore who he destroyed was as good a game as he has played.
More important is his physical presentation. He's retained the weight from NAB. He's got his spring, he's winning wrestles, he looks quick, powerful and agile. He's bombing set shots from 65m out. While always a thumping kick he's clearly added length to his kicking.
This is just not what happens to players who have problems with OP. Ball ran 100m for Xavier at the main APS carnival and was the ploddiest of plodders by the time OP was finished with him. I understand that OP robbed Carlton of the Judd that played for West Coast (he was never really the same played on return to Melbourne).
Daniher shat the bed against Fremantle kicking 4 behinds and is not seen again in an Essendon jumper. That's why he didn't play this year. He's shot mentally at the moment.
