Good to see Faull given the green light, they must feel pretty confident and were being cautious, which is good.

At this stage of his career and with his injury history, Lynch's appearance in games is pure bonus. If he only pjays a handful of games and retires I won't be surprised. Faull looks to be an ideal long term KPF. Plenty of options to trial in first half of the season. We needed the KPF depth as Jack R was ageing. 2023 $1.5mill Lynch plays 4 games we left JVR on the table for Brown.

Dear God don't let him do a MarlionLynch needs to be swaddled in cotton wool and nursed to F/S status...that's his true value to the Club.
Plus his IP for training his fellow forwards...
Too late...Lynch signed to play this year...unlike Marlion!Dear God don't let him do a Marlion

It’s going to be interesting when Faull gets his chance
Bauer and Armstrong will drop off in form and need a rest (or Lynch will get injured) and we need to look at next man in.
Think Fawcett has more conditioning and looked good in the vfl today. Jonny was also impressive but needs more match fitness before he’s ready to go. Hopefully a 4-6 week block and some good form in the VFL will lead to an AFL debut this side of the mid season break.
Got told by a current afl club employee in recruiting yesterday Sydney were devastated that we took Faull, they were wanting to fast track him into their seniors.Jonty will be the steal of the draft, reckon he was the best forward available and thankfully so did Blair. Showed today that he’s a natural leader and reader of the play.
Where have you seen examples of Fawcetts ‘lack of creative play?’Fawcett's lack of creative play worries me a bit at times. Especially missing short handball targets one after the other. But we will need to see him in our AFL team at some point.
Faull looked pretty lively today, and given his limited pre-season, that is very encouraging.
He’s obviously the long term option to complement Harry. Whether he’s had enough conditioning over the summer to be ready for an AFL debut will be the big question. I don’t think they will rush him if there’s any doubt.Jonty Faull is my replacement for Lynch if he doesn't get off, the way he leads up will work well with Armstrong imo.

Is this just based off one VFL practice match you have based your worry on?
Curious as he has very limited exposed form.
Didn't play the full VFL game, so not sure he's ready with his current conditioning.Jonty Faull is my replacement for Lynch if he doesn't get off, the way he leads up will work well with Armstrong imo.
He looked like an AFL player with the amount he played but would not be mad to see what Fawcett has either.Didn't play the full VFL game, so not sure he's ready with his current conditioning.
I suspect he'll be in the seniors pretty quickly though.
Fawcett still seems a bit of a work in progress to me. Has bursts of brilliance, but isn't always clean. He looked like an AFL player with the amount he played but would not be mad to see what Fawcett has either.
If Ryan gets the nod; I'd be pretty annoyed do not rate him at all at the next level.
We need some angry campaigners in this team, been too nice for a whileJonty Faull is a competitive beast and one of these players that play angry
Think we will be taking our time and building him up nicely to make sure he has the fitness and confidence to play his game his way.
Most of us were surprises when he was selected as high as he was but the club knows which clubs want him and where they will be looking to take him. We were not prepared to risk not having Jonty on our list
faull , Armstrong , Sims , Trainor - Building the spine in 1 draft

They were seriously impressed that despite having a big injury most last year he still was impressive.
Blair is a genius how he knew when to take a player at just the right time.
Pickett and Lynch both say hi!We need some angry campaigners in this team, been too nice for a while
I was originally concerned about having too many key position players on our list after the draft, but I've grown to really like the approach considering they are all so young. They are all going to take time like all talls do in the AFL. Gives us the ability to rotate them without over exposing or under exposing them. It’s going to be interesting when Faull gets his chance
