Does this mean I think Hogan will end up like him? Or any of the other 'so-so' winners of the award, like Nick Holland? Michael Wilson? Rhys Palmer? Daniel Rich?

No, of course it doesn't. I think Hogan is going to be a star. But it's an award that, generally, recognises someone who's done very well to excellently relative to what a first year player should achieve. That's all. It is not a slight on Cripps in the slightest and it does not mean he will be any lesser a player, or that he's been any lesser a player so far.

He'll be a star. Already is actually, but you know what I mean.

Pardon for intruding, but whilst I understand most of you are disappointed he didn't win the award, you don't need him to win the rising star to tell you that he's an elite level talent. He's on the same level as the Bont already IMO, slightly different skill set (More inside and a better use by hand). Also extremely difficult to tag because of his height and reach.

I totally agree with you,but if the afl are going to have an award for the best young player they need to do it properly,get the coaches to vote.
