His inside game and extraction capabilities are already elite, no doubt about it. Few have his raw strength combined with vision and skill.

Though he clearly still, and always likely will, prefer handballs his kicking has improved heaps and he's capable of turning, twisting and still spearing a pass these days.

Reckon he could still get a lot more "easy" ball but then he's probably doing so much grunt work he's exhausted.
 
I agree he is being recognised but outsiders seem a bit more cautious about labels. He deserves to be rated but doesn't need to be if you know what I mean.

He will get to do this when his teammates start backing him in a bit more as a forward option. There was a number of occasions last night when he was one out, or had run back into space inside 50 & his teammates ignored him. Why you wouldn't kick it to him, even when he is one out, defies logic.

How I wish Juddy's knee could have held out a bit longer. A player like Cripps was always the type we really needed to take the heat off Juddy and free him up way more. And the two rotating through the middle would make for a ridiculous clearance fest.

Collingwood had 2 shots at him before us and chose Freeman & Scharenberg.
Richmond chose Lennon.............but I know we liked Lennon also. Whew!!!!

Most of 'our' Phantom Drafters had him in the 30's until they changed their selections reflecting how the likely scenarios were to play out.

I think Wells liked Cripps a lot and even thought that Jones would get to them before Sydney took him off the table before Geelong's selection.
 
I just don't know how he always finds someone with the handball. If this was a video game and set that skill at the highest level, the game will still not allow you to find players as Cripps does as it would be "too unrealistic"

I like his Horizontal handball best....The one where he holds the ball in the palm of his hands as if serving a plate and then follows through with the forearm parallel to the ground. Rarely misses his intended target. There should be a handball efficiency stat.....Reckon he'd be at almost 100% :)
