Is there a bold trade we could do with Melbourne to get pick 2 off them since they still reckon they're more likely to trade it than keep it?

What would you offer Melbourne for pick 2 (that Melbourne would accept) keeping in mind that there's a chance of either Boyd or Aish.

Melbourne have said they would do the pick 2 for Shuey! Surely we have something better than Shuey we could offer up!

The price of getting pick 2 from Melbourne is falling, which is probably a testimant to the talent dispersion in the draft (e.g. one standout, and then an even next 15ish). Pick 2 might not be all that much better than pick 10, etc.

Having said that, Melbourne said they want a young mid, so obviously Shaw wouldn't do it. I certainly wouldn't want to overpay for this pick, and while Sidebottom is probably around the mark. Would I do that trade? Probably not, but only just not. The problem for us is that there is a pretty big drop to our next group of candidate at that description, e.g. the Blairs, Thomas', Dwyers, Seedsmans, etc, and I don't think bundling numbers of lower ranked players together (or with draft picks) would get it done.

I think GWS would be crazy not to take Boyd. Even if they don't need him immediately he will provide enormous trade value in the near future for GWS to offload youth for experience once they start to challenge.

Good KPF will be trade gold

Picks 10 & 11 will do just nicely thanks. Pick 2 not worth the sacrifice.
If GWS were to offer pick 1, they would be asking for Pendles or Beams, so not going to happen.

Agree 100%. There is no Reason to Move up as it would cost too much as you see in my Post.

I say keep Pick 10+11 and Get a Slider and Hine Favourite

If you want an honest trade I would give any 2 of Shaw, Blair or Goldsack for pick 2. Shaw is his way out and I am not sure Blair and Goldy can offer us much more going forward. At a pinch I may throw in either pick 10 or 11 but only if Hine has a clear second pick.

Actually would it be selling the farm for Shaw, Blair, Goldy and pick 11 for pick 1 and Taylor Adams. I would personally do that if Boyd is as rated as we keep hearing. Adams would be Blair's replacement.

We lose Shaw, Daisy (compo), Goldy and Blair. 2 were gone anyway
We gain Boyd , Adams and keep pick 10. Future looks good.

Wow. Never did I imagine reading a rational example of what we would need to offer . Sidebottom is about right. But we've lost enough of the Premiership team so it's a no for me.

Wouldnt want to lose Sidey, but sometimes these big ballsy calls need to be made. 2 years ago, we couldve had the Jaeger bomb and it wouldve cost us Daisy. Not so bad in hindsight, but we all laughed at the suggestion.

Im not saying that we should offer Steele or anyone of that ilk for pick 2, but its the kind of trade that could pay off big for a club willing to take a risk

I think I'd rather keep 10+11 then trade up for pick 2 as has been noted after Boyd the talent really falls away and I'd rather have two cracks at getting it right in that 1-15 range then just the one. Plus Aish doesn't really impress me from what I've seen and read seems outside and wiry good combination for a draft bust.

I don't think Sidey would meet Melbourne's needs. They want a player with presence which Shuey has but Steele is more of a support act. Melb would want an A-grader and we're not prepared to release anyone that they'd want (eg Pendles or Beams)

But a) if you trade a player you keep 10 and 11, and b) you do t need to pick up Aish with that pick. Could be anyone outside of Boyd.

Personally I really like the look of Sharenberg

i was shot down for wanting to give away daisy for O'Meara :D

still would give any player on our list bar grundy/cloke for O'meara easily, kid is already scary good, as i said 2 years ago and continue to say, he will win multiple brownlows.

Seeing as some prick reminded me that this guy was still a thing, i say Chris Egan.

Ok....so we've established a trading relationship with GWS now.....so lets give them their pick of 3 of our fringe (Goldy, Caff, Clarke, Frost, Harry, Kmart, etc....) and picks 10 and 11 and get BOYD
