Like H2F said so well.

Cousins represents the true meaning of a Warrior in many ways. A Man who is prepared to fuel the spark inside him that maketh himself something more than what he was born.

A player with barely any 'pure' football skill, yet through desire, hard-work, sacrifice and dedication was able to become one of the elite players in the AFL. Even when the fearful sheep tried to take it away from him the first time... he returned, conquered and became the Spiritual Captain of a Premiership team.

Spiritual Captain? Probably the greatest accolade one would wish to recieve.

Of course, the sheep can't possibly reconcile this notion and will eventually put the stake into him at the first opportunity.

WHy? Coz they would have to admit that their lives are just creations of a fearful ruling class who will never attain Legend Status and will achieve nothing in life.

Quotes from Troy-

Some chick to Achilles "What do you want?"
"I want what all men want, i just want it more."

Some faagy kid (representing the herd) being honest.
"How can you fight him, i would be scared?"
"That's why nobody will remember your name"

"Bla bla bla....you hate Cousins so your life must suck, you're against drugs so you're just a sheep....bla bla bla....i worship a drug addict....come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!"

Piss off fool.

It's sad for you that you would interpret my comments that way. But then what authority are you on anything?

I stopped reading when you said, "Cousins had no 'pure skill' as a footballer.

Go watch a game you ******.

Maybe you should watch and stop listening to the party line?
Or are you telling me he's a great kick? Has blistering pace? Excellent overhead mark? Ferocious tackler?

What i'm saying is that built himself into a great player by developing every area of his game to the max.

Do you understand? WIll u ever? Do you really believe COusins is in the top 100 most talented footballers in the comp?

You don't become as good as Cousins without having a lot of natural talent. I'd imagine someone like Brett Kirk would have worked just as hard at getting the maximum out of himself, yet he isn't half the player Cousins is.

Easily.

Extremely talented footballer. You can't be a brilliant footballer with no pure skill and just full on hard work. I'm talking super, super footballer, which Cousins was.

Great ball winner, ball skills in close and out wide were second none. You are right, he did develop his game to the max, hence why he was an amazing footballer, if he had "no pure skill" as you first mentioned, he'd be a great hard worker with no polish.

Start watching footy a bit more closely bud.

I think he had a great football mind. Hence his ability to always be in the right place at the right time. That's where he had the ability to become a superstar.

But he wasn't an extremely talented kick. And when he first started out there's no way you can tell me he had great pace. Those were things he busted a gut on. I mean more than most other players did. I mean he had the talent, it just wasn't Judd-like.

Your going backwards now.

He now had talent, but not 'Judd-like'. Interesting.

Look mate, just admit your wrong, then we can move on.

You can't be as good as Cousins was without Pure football talent, so thats where your opening comment dies right there.

Um, I never said he didn't have talent.

I, like Ryu23, am just saying he was a pure footballer, not an athlete. He didn't have electric pace (ie. Judd - who is considered to be extremely talented) nor did he have an outstanding kick. They were things he had to work on.

But his work-ethic, and football smarts were just something else.

So he was a "pure" footballer.

But didn't have "pure" football skills?

Interesting.....

Skooks, it's not a big issue... the main point is that he got more out of himself than the average person would think, if you looked at all his attributes compared to others.
The head recruiting officer of the Chicago Bulls once said Scott Pippen would be the best player in the team because of his natural ability... Not Jordan.
So the message is that you can't measure a man's will and dedication. Only actions prove quality.

Of course some think that calling posters virgins, their mums prostitutes, and labelling half the society druggies makes them important.

You're using quotes from a movie staring Brad Pitt.

OMG :thumbsu:

I wouldnt use the word 'important'.

Maybe, childish yet tastefully humorous.

Well it's sad that that movie would be more associated with Brad Pitt, then the 2000+ year old epic poem it's based on... but there you go.

I know its hard not to take notice of Woman's Day as you buy your groceries but damn! Main Stream Media is perfecting their brainwashing more and more i see:D

Natural talent ?

That's mostly an heriditary/genetic thing, as best as I'm informed at least.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but what Brett Kirk didn't have in his formative years was a classy AFL foot-baller father who could hone his son's skills, even in backyard kick-to-kick stuff the way Bryan did with Ben.

Likewise, Paul Kelly. I've never been happier with a Brownlow win than his.

In the poem Achillies says these things?

Was achillies a Junkie and it's hilarious watching you back peddle, you accuse me of being mainstream yet you rely on the lines of a hollywood produced film as the foundation of your argument.

Next :thumbsu:
Really, i'm back peddling and you're avoiding the point right?

You don't even know what you're debating... just semantics and strawmen from you at this point.

Blah Blah warrior Blah Sacrifce blah, he is a selfish prick that has made his club and his team mates the laughing stock of the afl. a true leader and warrior sacricfices for the greater good not expect the whole world to revolve around him and what he wants. he has snorted up his reputation and his family legecy,he will be forever remebered as a druggo who could play a bit of footy. I hope it dawns on him what he has done and he tries to get his life back on tracks, and a least regain some respect for himself, his family and his club.
