Its interesting as only the final score is considered when deriving the statistic for this, when you should factor in any out of bounds in the full or hitting the behind post as is what happened in the final qtr.

But hell lets take the record, awesome game.

Sadly I only watched the second half !

Will the new rushed behind rule mean that scores become more accurate?

Some of our kicking today was fantastic. A few tough ones as well and some clutch set shots. Hope it was the setting of a new standard for us rather than a spike in the graph!

we could have been 24.1. The 3 we ended up missing, Walker, Thompson and Tippett weren't anywhere near the hardest shots at goal. Just the one rushed/off hands, that's almost a record.

Speaking of records, surely Stabby's posting performance today is some kind of record. Inspiring stuff. :thumbsu:

I'ts a spike, don't worry about that - equal 10th best best of all time is not something you'll see every week!

Having said that, teams are starting to work things out. The attacking side now knows that the defence doesn't have the goal-line as a bail out, so they are tending to close in and try to lay a tackle, knowing that the defender close to the goals only has 180 degrees and not 360 to work with. That should allow for more close range scoring opportunities and higher percentage.

Essendon also contributed a few of there own freak goals - McPhee, Reimers, McVeigh all landed quality efforts.
