Anybody remember 2006?

Spanked by the much hyped Bulldogs by 115 points in round 1. Next week we were very competitive (got within 2 goals) against the highly favoured Saints who, like Geelong, have a recent history of flogging us. Next week we were easily beaten (46 points) by the best in the league in West Coast.

Sound familiar.

We missed the finals that year but did go on to record 11 wins and 8 loses for the rest of the season. We coped a fair few reimings that year but we did have a lot of god wins. We can still turn this season around but I doubt we can if the same old hacks keep getting a game.

Edit: And no I can't spell

Yes we'll pass a few beaten horses before finishing 11th or 12th. So what? I have absolutely no optimism about Richmond Football Club because it is not an elite institution. It once was. The fans are superb, the best. The club however is making up the numbers.

I have no real optimism for the season but we aren't doomed. But the start to the 2006 season was worse. Chuck Cotch, Cogs and Cuz back in the Middle and the skills will improve out of sight. We can win games this year.
