For 3 quarters against freo was it a very good brand? Look at the scores last few weeks? eg yesterday 1st quarter 39 points next 3 quarters we couldn't mach that. How are we playing very good brand when for 3 quarter's we struggle to kick goals. 5 goals for 3 quarters in games is really bad footy. All the close scores tell us is we have a great defensive game even though we lapse at the pointy end.
Yeah, fair enough I suppose. People could say Melbourne we smashing us around the ground for most of that game as well and if they weren't playing a couple of bench players short due to injury they probably wouldn't have run out of legs.

Yesterday our kicking at goal was lamentable and cost us the game. But the way we played round the ground was great to watch.

Before this year, Hardwick's record as coach in close games (ie less than a goal) was 5 losses, 10 wins. We also had 2 draws. So now, including this season. it's 5-13-2.

In 2 of those games we kicked the last goal to get in front and win the game (Andy Collins, Lloyd - interestingly, both Sydney Games - supposedly the best-drilled tactical side). In 8 of those games the opposition kicked the last goal to get in front.

Overall - including the 2 draws, we were in front at 3/4 time on 10 occasions, opposition in front on 10 occasions.

So when we get into the 'close' situation - tense last quarter - we're more likely to lose (gee, thanks Einstein).
Check your numbers according to you we've won three more close games this year, or is that you dimma won the kpis but lost the match, I can't remember the last club to win the premiership without winning the game.

Can you enlighten me

The coach is responsible for setting up plays for when there is a minute to go and you are in front, It's time for him to go.

Unless something dramatic happens At the end of this year.

As soon as shai's goal was shown to be a point, I was absolutely certain that they would kick a goal and win the game...
Dimma's time was up this time last year. To his credit he has bought in some exciting young talent and has tried to change our game style, but we can't win games kicking 10 goals a week. This has been an ongoing issue with hardwick in charge...
Our defensive efforts are really impressive, holding th gws and doggies to 10 goals, but we aren't brave enough coming out of the back line... when we run and carry we look really dangerous but too often we just kick down th line trying to gain metres, with no real purpose... frustrating

In a situation like this we always look to blame somebody. Hardwicks new gameplan has virtually seen us in winnable positions in all but 3 quarters this season! He couldn't kick those goals Jack, Grigga and Dusty missed. Give it a spell! Last years Hardwicks coaching was poor but not this year folks. The coaching staff have done a miraculous job this year.

Did you get your wins and losses around the wrong way??

I know that in games decided by less then 10 points under Hardwick the record is 22 loses, 10 wins and 2 draws. So there is about a 66% chance we will lose close games.

The club needs another reset, time to piss of Dimma.

I agree... 5 weeks into the comp and we think he's god, we lose 3 games in the last minute and we all want his head. Don't worry, i'm hurting as much as all of you, I blew up at the misses last night and we had a huge fight because she said "calm down, it's only a game".. is she right? maybe she is...

To be honest, the only loss I'm upset about is Freo ... all the other games I pencilled in as losses anyway..

All the analysis in the World wont break the Richmond curse, 37 years worth of players and coaches have tried and yet again when the game is ours to win we miss 5 easy shots at goal, you cant blame the coaches for that.

We need a witch doctor not a coach:(

Everyone just relax...

based on my honest (sober and not emotional) opinion, we should finish no lower than 6th...

If we lose to Bombers on Sat, then I'll delete this post and it's time to panic!

Predicting 10 teams to get booted from finals for drug cheating?

We play Gold Coast, Brisbane, Nth x 2, Saints x 2, Carlton, Hawks, Bombers...

Seriously, if we cant win those games then we shouldn't be having this conversation because are not a top 8 side...
Suns Brisbane and Blues are the only certainties there.

We might beat GC and Carlton, will beat Brisbane, and will lose the rest. Both essendon and saints are significantly better than us right now, and north have much better talks than us. Hawks still have good players and we won't come back at them like coolingwood did.

Lots of people we saying GWS were going to with the premiership at the start of the year not that that means much.

We easily set up enough gettable shots on goal not just to beat them but to beat them well. Unfortunately ...

Griggs missed about three gettable one.
Jack missed about three gettable ones.
Rioli missed a couple that you would have liked to see him slot.
Dusty missed a couple.
Bellis had one handballed off to him and missed the lot.

Haha! You realise that has us playing Freo at the G in an EF.

Five seconds left, Tiges up by 5 points, scrappy kick into the Freo 50, Mundy marks, siren blows...

Always had faith in Dimma and still do.

For all the football games we've lost in the past three weeks,we still play great footy.

Remember the old days when you would be happy too see just one made tackle?

Onwards and upwards Tigers.

IT's less about individual games and more about seasons of effort though. At some point you need to recalibrate your expectations and truly move upwards

We just lost to the prem favourites and last years premiers by under a goal at their home grounds in what way is Essendon significantly better than us?

don't be silly, Essendon and Saints are certainly not better than us at this moment in time. Saints were smashed yesterday, did you miss that game? We will beat the bumbers next week.

Thirteen blokes on the injury list, GWS.
They'll get more than a few back ... still flag favourites!

Talk about mentally weak, all week the talk was we were going to get thumped by the Giants even after selection many were predicting doom and yet when we lose by less than a kick against the premiership favourite Hardwick needs to be sacked.
