AB medal - ummmmm it was on ?

Very low key affair.

While it was actually on 'free to air' this year, it was a 20 minute segment before the big bash final.

It just seems that it's not a big deal in the eyes of the public anymore - compared to when it first started 20 years ago.

While I am not a great fan of how they derive at getting the AB medallist (because you really need to play in at least 2 forms of the game) , the cream does usually rise to the top.

Smith didn't have the greatest year, but still got the job done. There weren't many games in this voting period and Smith missed some odi's in England, and the first 2 tests of our summer didn't get amongst the runs.

I guess it was always going to be Smith or Cummins.

I'm thinking that the change in format is more covid related than anything, add in the fact there's some up coming tours to NZ so they adjusted how they did things this year - not sure they really could all get in a room or try to make a big night of it as they have in the past

The domestic awards were announced on Friday during the day and then the international awards last night

its a hard award to get right, someone who plays 2/3 if not 3/3 forms of the game is always going to have an enormous advantage
