Yep, Lliam (Buster) Molan is from my club, so I've seen him play a few games in the seniors this year.

Buster's tall and mobile with good skills, I think he's a chance of making it into the AFL but a little too early to tell, next year's performances in the Under 18 system should be instructive.

Interestingly, Buster is from Padua College in Brisbane, as is Jacob Allison and Harris Andrews, quite a production line forming there....

At the moment I reckon Buster would be about 190cm, he's a rangy type so you'd expect him to grow a bit more before hitting the draft.

To be honest though, I'm just not sure whether Buster is 16 or 17 this year.

I know he missed the final cut for the Qld U16's last year but I've not seen a team list for the 16's this year so I don't know if he was in the 16's this year or not.

On lions academy 2014 (ie last year) player list he was listed as under 16, same as Jacob Allison and Jack Rolls. That would make him under 17s this year.

Gold Coast not producing youth which is surprising considering they have probably the closest thing you can get to an AFL heartland in QLD. Will struggle to retain talent for the next decade.

Basically what I take away from it is the prospective Leuenberger compensation will pretty much cover any eventuality given it's almost definitely band 3 or better, e.g. pick 22 (adjusted for other compo picks). Any pick we get from Redden and/or Aish then will need to be turned into enough assets to get whatever players we're interested in, factoring in PSD pick 2 as a potential option.
