I remember him playing 5 games last year and I was quite impressed with him. Hasnt been selected at all this year.

Does anyone know much about his situation? Is he injured? Or is he simply not playing well in the WAFL.

Seemed a real player from what I saw of him last season.

Played yesterday for EP but didn't really do much. I had heard he was being played through the midfield this year in a bid for Simmo to find more mid options but it doesn't seem to be working. Maybe once Yeo becomes a full time mid Carter could slot into the back half as he did show some promise.

Is simply a small defender and an average one at that. Unless he learns to play midfield or forward, his future is limited. With the emergence of Bennell and other players like Brown showing they can play on small forwards, he is no longer a required player IMO.

Bennell can rebound defense well, but is awful against a small forward
I dont recall seeing Brown playing on any small forwards

Small forwards kill us almost every time
Gartlett killed us in our loss to Carlton
Blair and Elliot killed us
Ballantyne killed us

Ballantyne didn't kill us until after Brown went off

Actual good small forwards generally tend to kill sides these days, as they are either on the end of a slingshot counterattack, or they are able to capitalise on spillages in a congested forwardline, something our players haven't been able to do since Nicoski's cameo in the forward line.

Ballantyne, Elliot, Garlett (and Betts next week) are all capable of inflicting pain on any side. We definitely need a better small defender, but we're not alone in having those players do well against us.

Had a promising year last year playing 1 role and that was as a lock down defender. Was doing a good job in the WAFL that he got promoted to the senior team and looked pretty good for a first year player. When drafted there was talk he will get developed as a mid sometime in the future but with Bennell playing so well as a lock down defender i think they wanted to try Carter out a mid a lot sooner than planned. Hasn't been setting the world on fire but with a new role as a 2nd year player he deserves some slack. I think he is worth persisting with as he does have pretty disposal and versatile enough to play a few roles. Needs to be given a game or 2 before the year ends.

To be fair, not many did a lot for EP on Saturday. Pretty amazing seeing AFL listed footballers playing on a ground with massive puddles on the flank.

Like the game East Fremantle played at Subi in the foxtel cup last year, it was good to watch for a change IMO.

For a wet game there seemed to be a lot more marks in the EP v WP game than the Eagles v Richmond game the night before. Is this to do with Burley football vs Sherrin?

There was more rain during the game Friday night, I went and got soaked. But on Saturday I didn't sit under cover and it was fine although a little cold.

Agreed, however given the ground conditions I think the ball would have been just as wet during both games (the kids on the ground at half time were pretty soaked)

Thumbs up for the dedication :thumbsu:
FWIW it was 23 degrees and dry in my lounge room for the Friday night game, but on Saturday I cranked up the heater to 24, and got a little hot

Watched most of that game, dissapoiting as a Falcons supporter:D but also for the fact most of our listed players did f**k all, that old prick Wolf for the Royals did more as a 50 year old than our listed players did! Sinclair was probably the best, not great conditions obviously but he was ok. Anyone heard what happened to Wellingham?? He limped off straight to the rooms and the boundary guy said his knee was strapped.

It's been East Perth's non-AFL listed players that have really performed this year which is great from a supporter and competitions perspective.

Is a player worth holding onto. As a pure BP lock down defender I'd prefer him to Bennell and if possible use Bennell and Hurn as play makers off HB.

I haven't been able to watch much WAFL this year but if what I've heard and read is true and accurate he has had more midfield time with EP in 2014?

Came over from Vic, not going to let a bit of rain stop me.

Agreed about the ground conditions, just massive puddles at the WAFL.
