Who is the better team? Who is more likely to win the flag. Noticed Terry Wallace has tipped Adelaide saying they have class players, finals experience, good form and good percentage or somthing along the lines of that. People say WCE have been lucky with injuries but IMO Adelaide have had more luck. Johncock is the only key player who has missed a large chunk of the season. I can't see too much depth in their list, they're doing very well, I'll give them that. But I just don't beleive their the 2nd best team this year. I'd rate Brisbane and maybe the Saints ahead of them. But for the record- who is the better team?

Adelaide will crumble come finals time.I said it weeks ago and I will say it again.

If we finish 2nd, which at this stage looks highly likely (as we are virtually 2 games clear of 3rd with a dream run home), then we will atleast make the Prelim.

What are your reasons for saying we'll crumble, or are you just having a wild stab in the dark?

Did you read Terry Wallace's prediction that Adeliade will win the flag. What would you make of that?

He didn't actually say we'd win the thing, he just said that we were the value bet or smoky for the flag, based on a few factors that have been strong indicators in the past.

Also whats to say you aren't the 02-03 version of the Power ??

WE have beaten you in our last two encounters in finals football aswell

saying that I can't see Adealide winning it this year, we are in a rebuilding phase and have been pretty lucky with injuries, but also NC has managed his stock very well this year. there would be probably only 2-3 games this year where we have relied on the old firm to get us through.

Big test coming against the Bulldogs at home

WC will see where they are coming up against the Lions in full flight

I think that West Coast are the team to beat, Adelaide are still rebuilding, and developing depth and a key forward line. Their defence and midfield is very strong.

If Adelaide finish 2nd they are a strong chance for a home prelim final at the MCG. Adelaide look better in Melbourne than West Coast, however West Coast definitely have the more complete team and should win the Premiership. If some of the Vic contenders get some consistency they are still a huge change against Adelaide in a Prelim in Melbourne.

Getting a bit far ahead tho, but just my thoughts.

Pretty flattering statement, and they probably are a smoky. But the question was, who is the better side. I think its simple. Quite often the 'best' sides dont win the flag.

You obviously didn't either or did you just read the title???

He said they were the best bet for the flag, he never said they would win it.

So I'll explain it to you. If he was a betting man and or if he could bet he would put his money on Adelaide. With the odds they are paying and their form etc. He never said they would win the flag.

WCE have gone from a team who couldn't win in Melbourne to a team who can.
Doubts are still there but from performance WCE are the better team.

You'd have to say West Coast is the better team, seeing how they have only lost one game, but as for the flag, finals experience and form count for plenty which our more experienced players have. Not saying we're favourites for the flag, but we're in good shape to give it a good tilt.

He actually said we are the best bet (value) for the flag, not that we would win it. His basis was that we have all of what you have described (class players, finals experience etc etc). I think we'll be a more dangerous finals team than many give us credit for.

That's your opinion. I'm assuming you're basing that on our injury list, but teams tend to make a lot of their own luck. Yes we've had some luck with injuries, but West Coast have been lucky in a lot of areas aswell.

Quite odd, as the ladder says we are the second best team and that's all that counts really. We're at least 5 and 6 spots ahead of St Kilda and Brisbane respectively.

As for St Kilda being better than us, what do you base that on ?
Our last meeting at the Telstra Dome ? - We thumped them there
Current form ? - Debatable.
Ladder position ? - Definitely Not.

Ummm? Isn't that exactly what your team has done the last 10 finals appearances?

Were we favourites for any of them?

I think it's all been said already, but obviously West Coast are the better side.

I don't think we're the 2nd best team in the league, but for this year, we are the second best performed side, our ladder position and percentage indicates that. We're pretty consistent.

I don't know where we'll finish or whether we'll succeed in finals but we're definitely heading in the right direction, and there's plenty of young talent coming through, so there are plenty of positives regardless of what happens for the rest of 2005.

Anyone who voted for Adelaide is a joke. Clearly WEst Coast are the better side, hence their position on the ladder. There are two DUMB people that voted for Adelaide.

IMO a full strength St. Kilda side would beat you guys at full strength. Not sure who they were missing when you played them ( I did watch it and was impressed with the Crows but more dissapointed with the saints). Most would believe that St.KIlda at full strength are top 2 in the comp behind the Lions maybe and followed by the Eagles. Seriously just compare the 2 forward lines full strength-

Saints:
HF: Hamill Reiwolidt Guerra
FF: Milne Gherig Koschiztke

Crows:
HF: Hentschel, Perrie, Goodwin
F: Skipworth, McGregor, Welsh

(Skipworth in for arguements sake- the adelaide site had McLeod)

Hamill>Hentshcel
Riewoildt>Perrie
Goodwin>Guerra
Milne>Skipworth
Gherig>McGregor
Koschiztke>Welsh

Easy win to the Saints IMO.

What about the midfields-

Saints:
C: Hayes, Harvey, X Clarke
FOLL: Ackland, Dal Santo, Ball

Crows:
C: Burton, Ricciuto, McLeod
FOLL: Hudson, Thompson, Edwards

McLeod>Clarke
Harvey=Riccutio
Hayes>Burton
Hudson>Ackland
Dal Santo> Thompson
Ball>Edwards

Taking nothing away from your midfield they are very underatted and up there with the best IMO. But you have to say the Saints have more class and overall better players in the middle of the ground.

The backline is your only advantage over the Saints and even then I'd say not by too much.

The crows have been a better performed team then the Saints but the Saints have a better list than Adeliade. Therfore at full strength are a better team.

Terry wallace also dyes his hair and lives in a solarium, the guy is living in the past 1997-98

adelaides side has been 'compared' with every other side this year and deemed to be 'worse'. yet we are 10-5. are we underrated... or are some of these 'gun' teams just overrated?

I think I made myself pretty clear. Adeliade has had a fairly good run with injuries compared with say a St.Kilda or Fremantle. At full strength these sides would be better than your side. There is no doubt you are the second 'best performed' side this year.
