Well done Crows. Can we trade in the profits for the premiership cup ?

Last year we got a $500,000 payment from the sale of Waverly. This year I think it was $200,000

I remember a certain Collingwood president suggesting that considering that the non Victorian clubs weren't around when Waverly was first being used they shouldn't benefit from the sale of the ground. Due to the fact that we were benefitting (and the other 5 non victorian clubs) then the preliminary final ruling with the MCC is fair and should remain as is. Bloody Victorians.

Does Collingwood have to fork out money to the VFL? I wouldnt of thought so, what we have to pay is a huge percentage of our profits.

no im pretty sure as a founding member of the AFL collingwood were given there AFL liscence, unlike Adelaide and Port Adelaide who were not and the SANFL paid for them, hence some of the dividened goes to them to pay off that. i dont have aproblem with us giving money to the SANFL as long as they use it to develop the SANFL so it can be a stronger comp for our young/back up players to play in, so when they are needed in the AFL that its not a huge leap. I think the money we hand to them does go to grass roots so im happy to keep paying it to them

Now, what ever happened to those new corporate boxes the club said they would build with last year's surplus? They built the extension onto their headquarters, but I don't see any boxes.

The SA Football Commission wouldnt let them put windows into the new extension facing the oval. Probably thought they would use them as the new boxes.

Given that the standard Port taunts are usually about club history, tradition and success, I would say that is a fair response.

Come back and taunt us about finances when Port performs better financially, and I promise we won't use premierships as a comeback.

Not bad considering we have just had one of our worst seasons on record.
I think earlier in the week Port posted a profit of $500,000 in a premiership season so we should be very pleased with ourselves.
Although I would much prefer to post a half mil profit and win a flag than post cool mil and finish 12th

I would like to ask a question if I may, what is the difference when other supporters of SANFL clubs get rammed down their throats how Port Adelaide have won so many premierships, but if the Crows supporters keep bringing up the 97/98 AFL premierships, they are told not to live in the past. Strange that one.

It seemed you and your other supporters were happy living off those premierships as long as we didnt win one. And you liked to bring it up all the time. 30 times, each showdown, without fail I would here some Crow supporter bring up "yeah weve got two premierships". It seems for a lot of Crows supporters that was the logical answer for any question. "Ben Marsh is a dud and shouldnt play AFL" "pfftt, weve got two premierships what have you done". Maybe you can enjoy some of that inane dribble from us this year!!

For a club steeped in the tradition of playing for your mates and playing for the love of the club , this newfound economic rationalisation
is eyeopening.

Unless you were trying to make the point that a flag is worth a million times more than the $$$ that come through the club? ( I agree as well)

But then again this IS the same person who wanted 8 extra clerical staff at the grand final party, signing up drunk supporters to part therm from their cash.

1 = Look Macca it's human nature for supporters to bleat on about their clubs success etc just that some do more than others & to honest there's not much harm in it.

When you've had it shoved down your throat for a number of years it's not bad when it becomes your turn to repay to those that done unto to you.

2 = You gotta be joking maybe in some twisted way there are those odd Crow supporter than can find a positive in a Port premiership victory but i'm bloody sure i can't, nothing would please me more than having the Port Power down below the AFC on just about everything imaginable.
