Not from what I understand, the Dons are in the box seat as he is still on their list to trade him otherwise he goes into the draft.

Surely this is a win-win-win. Bigger win for us IMO. But still a fairly good deal for all.

The likes of Fyfe, Selwood, Mitchell and Pendlebury get a lot more protection from their players

Maybe if our players learnt how to protect Danger better he wouldn't need to try and break free or dispose of the ball with 2-3 people hanging off him

While looking for a few stats on the back of the AA selections, I came upon this about Frawley

Recommend giving it a read but the parts that stuck out to me...

The Demons conceded, on average, 18 more inside 50s than their opposition in 2013 and 11 more in 2012.

In 2013 he conceded just 25 goals in 17 games, with his direct opponent kicking more than two goals just twice.

Since 2009, when he began to establish himself as the most promising defender in the game, he has conceded just 1.7 goals in the reverse Coleman (a statistic that measures how many goals defenders have kicked on them).

It is a figure that stacks up against the All Australian full-backs in that time, with Matthew Scarlett averaging 1.1 goals per game, Brian Lake 1.5, Darren Glass 1.4, Luke McPharlin 1.2 and Scott Thompson 2.5, in the reverse Coleman since 2009.

Considering each of those players except Thompson played in teams that have gone deep into finals during that period, it is a reasonable effort.

Particularly when you consider Glass was 27 years old, Scarlett 29, McPharlin 27, Lake 27 and Thompson 22 at the start of 2009.

Frawley was 20 at the start of 2009 and was named in the back pocket of the All Australian team at the end of 2010 aged 21. He has not been close since but none of the other five were close to selection at 21.


Like I touched on previously, if Frawley is seriously considering heading over to Freo, I would be asking serious question as to why Crows haven't also approached his management. He may not want to come to SA at all, but who knows what a little extra $$$ on top of what Freo are offering could do for him... We would be insanely stupid to not have our hat in the ring. A Talia/Frawley combo could solve a lot of our problems without the need to give up anything. We already solved 1 gaping hole in our list year with Betts, time to fit another piece into the puzzle. If 500k is closer to the reported price, I wouldnt be opposed to offering 550k if it gets the deal done.

The same NBA trade period, it was all stale pending on one mans decisions! On that decision Multiple teams plans were altered, and almost strait after his decision players flowed to new teams & undecided free agents re-signed!

Free agency it's a bucket full of hopes n wishes

all those teams and players where waiting because 1 player can win it all, almost by himself, in the NBA.

Look at GAJ at GCS. 1 player just cant change a teams fortunes alone like he can in the NBA.

So, the comparison still doesn't work for me.

but he is consistent.

you'd take Danger's best game by a mile, but I'd have Fyfe for a season/career to date (hypothetically).

They were talking about players of Dangerfield's quality with his skillset. Danger, and a fit one at that (think first half of 2012) is one of a kind. Nat Fyfe is a different player altogether.

Did you also happen to watch last years GF by any chance, how terrible Fyfe was? People are always bashing Danger for his kicking, and yet I think Fyfe is just as bad, if not worse at times. Like I said, he is a dead set gun and Id welcome him to the crows with open arms if it were the case, however I may be one of very few in thinking that Fyfe is a tad overrated

But thats a debate for another day and not meant for this thread.

Well thats what Im getting at, you'd bloody hope so. People on here seem to have a short memory and only remember his recent games as a forward, where as his best work by a country mile is down back.

Danger has been better for longer, but this season fyfe had better year not a much better year, danger was still first in contested possesion, third in clearances. Let's Say danger kicked more accurately 72 efficiency instead of 62 and 32-8 instead of 18-22 all of a sudden he is the brownlow favourite.

Aish is a gun and top 5 in the rs. Has good pedigree and would make an immediate impact. It'd be tough for a new draftee to top that.
