This is why I've said I seriously think he needs to get his vision checked cause he was doing that last year and I just can't believe we'd pick a defender who seriously can't even spoil the ball.

He was comfortably the best defender in his draft class, and has had some hiccups along the way here.

If he was in last years draft where would he have gone?

His draft year was a few years ago and in that time he has shown very little and I can’t think of one quality that’s he’s shown which indicates he’s an afl player let alone one worth pick 6. Sometimes they don’t pan it, it happens.

Last year he'd have been top 10 IMO. Not as dynamic as Gibcus mind you.

It's fair to say he's not shown much at all, that I can agree on. He's in trouble if we're halfway through the year and he's not pushing Murray very hard.

No what I meant was, given his SANFL form where would he have been drafted if it was his draft year? There’s no chance he would have been top 10. Would he even have been drafted?

I mean its a strange scenario, but I would imagine he'd have been drafted late, probably rookie. Recruiters wouldnt forget.

The only reason McAsey went so high was we desperately needed a replacement for Talia who was showing serious signs of wear and tear already. We needed a Talia replacement and clearly at that time he was the best in that draft class...if we don't take him he could have slipped outside the top 10 at least remembering we did trade down with the purpose exclusively of taking McAsey. I think Brodie Kemp not McAsey may well have been wearing a Crow's jumper if he hadn't done his ACL late in the season.

It's not hard to understand the reason why we took him that early but he needs to start looking like an AFL player pronto or he's looking very much like a bust.

You have to wonder why that is when Dangerflog was allowed to play VFL practice games DURING the AFL season.

It's this sort of shit we have to kick up a stink about, just to let the VFL know we aren't going to take a reaming whenever it suits them.

It does seem like he needs to get more strength in his legs. Was there one mark where he didn't fall over? Improve that and he'll be much better in 1 on 1 battles.

And Dylan Stephens has been disappointing up to this point though miles ahead of McAsey.

After watching those highlights the one thing I would be doing with Fischer is sending him for ballet and gymnastics. He has great courage, reads the flight of the ball really well, is athletic but his movement across the ground looks like a baby deer taking it's first steps.

It's like his legs are heavy or a kid that grew late and still getting to grips with his body
