And turned into a very good key position defender. Hell we might not have blown pick 6 on a dud one
What does drafting a KPD at 18 years old got to do with the full list rebuild we were doing after 2019 with re-signing a 28 years old tall defender who might have developed into a very good KPD?

He was. I still can’t work out the logic of what we did with he and Greenwood. Recruit them older, develop them, they become good and we let them walk for peanuts. What was our strategy?
We have lacked mid aged players & been lucky to find Keays... but we basically gave away 2 players cheaply who would have been good support for our rebuild.

Salary cap isn't the issue as we have plenty spare.

It's just poor list management.

Lol, surely you are not defending this was a correct decision in hindsight?

He has played 41 games over the past 2 seasons for the Bulldogs.

Played more games than Talia, Sloane or Milera... combined!
Over and out I'm not poluting the SANFL thread with past trades any longer.

Don't quote me because I will not reply.

They didn't cost us anything as they were both rookie list and ideally if we didn't had that big list turnover after 2019 we would have kept both if not at least one of them.

Someone has spat the dummy tonight...
Not really, you make no sense questioning this strategy. We were only looking to keep either Greenwood or Keath given our full list rebuild after 2019 and was only going to over one of them 2 years maximum. Imagine if we offered one of them 4 years and they weren't even one of our established players after the comments of the long contract to Sloane who is our captain.....

That post wasn't directed at you!

We could have & should have offered him 4 years.

Can't believe you & others are even arguing this in hindsight.

We weren't doing a full list rebuild after 2019? Talia and Doedee weren't our prefer tall defenders combination for our list rebuild? We didn't expect Talia to play for another 4 years?
No.

Look who spat the dummy now....lol.
Lol, that isn't a dummy spit. That's me shaking my head in disbelief at you.

I haven't stormed out of this thread refusing to continue the discussion.

Thank god you weren't our decision maker for Keath is all I have to say.
You are a clown if you don't think Keath would be very handy for us at CHB at the moment.

Because it was pointless. Even someone with basic football knowledge like me knew that was the correct decision. If Keath wanted to say he could have given I recall the amount of dollars was the similar except the contract length was 2 years compared to 4.

One thing we can agree on - you have basic football knowledge. ;)

I notice you refused to answer my question.

Wasn't the point of the discussion, it was around the strategy of the list. And you aren't giving enough credit to the Bulldogs improving his one on one defence ability.
It is the whole point of the discussion.

This is about strengthening our list not helping out the Bulldogs!

We offered him 2 years right? Why would we have offered him anything if we were going through a rebuild?

I'm sure it was given you are arguing we should have increase his 2 years offer to 4 years, hence list management for a list in a full rebuild after 2019. So give credit to the Bulldogs for improving Keath as a defender then.
