Hamish’s job isn’t to please this board, it’s to pick quality players. Not sure why you’d raise how it would go down on this board unless he’s blowing picks.

He picked the CLEAR best KPD who was the MVP of his rep side that included the 2 best players of that draft year.

Hamish has a record of being able to pick up solid B grade footballers later in the draft but boy does he burn some top end picks.

How many "top end" picks have we had

You know he loaded up on smalls this draft right? So picking smalls has nothing to do with it.

But I know once Serong started playing and showed what he was capable of there wouldn’t be any complaints.

As for McAsey, he picked a player that’s not going to make it with pick 6 in a position where we’ve got a rookie player and a Port reject playing.

It’s time Hamish’s defenders acknowledge how many decent picks he’s burnt and he’s got to go. 10 years is long enough and we need a fresh set of eyes and philosophy.

A few intercepting defenders went pick 6 and 9 in the last few drafts and McAsey is an intercepting defender who is also good one on one.

WTF are you on about you sad individual, he's referring to McAsey who has been absolutely disappointing on any performance indicator you care to bring up.

Took a calculated gamble on the clear best KPD in the draft, hasn't worked for a variety of reasons.

Serong is a small clean midfielder with good core strength not a Mchenry type who gets blown over by a light breeze and has the permanent fumbles.

Serong was the obvious choice at the time but we took a huge gamble trading down on a slow lumbering KPD with not great disposal and who fell over in every clip on his draft video. Big miss.

That is assuming Serong wouldn't have got the same treatment as all the other kids on our list and parked in the 2s

Milera is coming back from an ACL and Sloane and M.Crouch are holding up 2 positions, we really had to loss M.Crouch to FA last year. I can't see Thilthorpe, Pedlar, Shoenberg and Hamill staying in the 2nds forever.

This is the issue.

We complain about taking small players, which is fair, but a lot of that has to do with taking small and also average players. Average being the key. We are not picking a bunch of Lachie Neales, we're picking C grade small midfielders.

There might be a few complaints on draft day but no one would whinge after seeing the 175cm Shai Bolton play if we drafted him

Apparently he was good in the first 2 games and had a shocking game yesterday.

McAsey apparently also showed potential forward in his draft year and the AFL games that he showed something was when he went forward, very rarely do elite forward go as late as pick 6, CGS got lucky with B.King since Port Power should have picked him.

I think most were uncomfortable with the Mcasey pick at the time.

That is a good point. We even kept Danger out of the middle for 4 years. I'd be filfthy to be a midfielder drafted by the Crows.

He also played some forward in the preseason, kicked an excellent goal outside 50 on the boundary after a strong contested lead mark. Hence some here said we should play him forward when he was struggling in defence.
