IMO that player would have been Dylan Stephens who we were also heavily linked to in the run up to the draft.

I know it doesn't suit your agenda but that's probably the way we would have gone again IMO.

Is Dylan Stephens going great...No

Is Dylan Stephens going better than Fischer McAsey...Yes both in an AFL and VFL/SANFL sense.
So either way Hamish would have stuffed up pick 6 ;) to go with the others he’s stuffed up

not sure what to do saturday.. watch the SANFL game or the AFL game..

looks like both are on about the same time.

do you watch the AFL game at shitshow stadium..

or

see what our youth can do against the SANFL version of the doggies?..

Yep. And the other 6 and 9 in those two drafts were Josh Rachele and Archie Perkins.

In fact, much to my point was that Hawthorn drafted that KPD at 6 to take over from Hartigan (rookie) and eventually Frost (rookie).

Now granted, Denver may have a good AFL career, he at least has the right athletic traits. But just because other teams have also done it, doesn't mean it was a smart use of a top 10 pick.
Well, I guess since other clubs also do this then your statement of "That seems like a massive over investment in an position that is often filled later in the draft" is invalid which was the point I was making with the Hawks using pick 6 and Richmond using pick 9 on KPD.

And guess what? Neither do you, even with your basic football knowledge and detective skills ;)
My basic football knowledge and detective skills say GWS wouldn't have as they would had known they would have match the Tom Green bid at pick 7 instead of 9 ;)

Replays on the SANFL Digital pass, can always sneak a peep at half time and the breaks if you're keen.

A funny coincidence that last week both our AFL and SANFL teams played the Tigers and this week both teams play the Doggies
If you want to watch all our 1st and 2nd rounders play, watch the sanfl

Yeah and if your aunty had the landing gear she could be your uncle.

Keath was offered way more money and a longer term deal by the Dogs, we were never doing that at his age and with his injury history.

And Butts was emerging at the time as well.
I said at the time we should have kept Keath.

Imo, letting him go cheaply was a huge list management error.

I don't think GWS wouldn't have done the pick swap as all the selection would have moved up a pick had we not told them we were selecting McAsey so Fremantle would have used pick 7 to draft Tom Green to maximise GWS draft deficit instead of Serong. Hence, GWS only did the pick swap as they knew Fremantle was going to select Serong.

Why do you spam so much nonsense?

Well it was either that or pay him what he wanted along with more than the 2 years we had on the table.

He was uncontracted so we had little bargaining power because he nominated the Dogs.

This is the SANFL thread so I'll leave it at that.

Given we have had plenty of room in our salary cap, giving Keath a 4 year deal shouldn't have been an issue.

4 years with his injury history, I don't think so.....again out injured currently with another hamstring for 4 to 6 weeks.

We picked him up at what 24/25? What did we think was going to happen after spending a couple of years developing him? He’d not turn out and we delisted him or he made it and we weren’t going to need to give him a decent contract to keep him? Mind blowingly dumb list management.

And yes we did, we could have sent him to the preseason draft and bulldogs risk losing a key piece of their premiership push? They had more to lose than us. There were a lot of clubs in the Bulldogs way.

Lol, surely you are not defending this was a correct decision in hindsight?

He has played 41 games over the past 2 seasons for the Bulldogs.

Played more games than Talia, Sloane or Milera... combined!

And turned into a very good key position defender. Hell we might not have blown pick 6 on a dud one

He was looking decent before he left.

We put in the hard yards & basically gave him away... which is why I was pissed off with the decision at the time.

Would be just what we need at the moment.

2 years was smart by us given we were doing a full rebuild of the list and signing him for 4 years would have push the development of Butts back for another few years given we thought Talia would have been able to play for another 4 years at that time so our tall defenders would have been Talia and Keath/Doedee.....not ideal in a rebuild. Luckily for us, Butts has step up after what happened to Talia otherwise not signing Keath to a 4 year deal would have been a big mistake.

He was. I still can’t work out the logic of what we did with he and Greenwood. Recruit them older, develop them, they become good and we let them walk for peanuts. What was our strategy?

Lol, what a load of drivel!
