Sanders has to be a descendent of David Kantilla you would think...been going OK in the Panthers Reserves the last couple of weeks. 190cm 84kg

That name jumped off the page at me too. Must be a relation to Soapy

My old man played against Soapy Kantilla & St Mary’s back in 63 (62?), in the NT. said he was the most amazing athlete but when the ball hit the ground he just wasn’t interested. He’d give up and wait for another sit when the ball next came in high

Was shocked at the transformation the next year at South (both him & my old man were invited down to train - was a bit too much like hard work for my old man so he didn’t hang around). Kerley had made a different man that year out of David Kantilla - he ran, he chased, he flew…

And we know the rest…

Kim is a relation to dual Knuckey Cup winner and South Adelaide Hall of Fame member David Kantilla and it will be the first time since 1966 that a Kantilla has played in the blue and white.

Small World my old man played footy with Kerls for Koolymilka after the war with a couple of his mates Ronny Collins and John Holness, they drove trucks for Brandon Collins while they were building Woomera and the rocket range. The old man ran the very profitable two up after hours at the camp/tent city. ;) Kerls actually coached his 1st Premiership with Koolymilka...

Just looking back I reckon I got my dates wrong - my old man was up in Darwin when around 1958/59, so wind my date estimates back a couple of years.

But year, small world.

WheresGroomgone probably remembers Soapy too

So apparently the VFL, I mean AFL, are paying the SANFL direct to keep the SANFL clubs salary cap as it is so we don’t attract players from other leagues which would ultimately make our comp the second best in the league.

Instead the SANFL clubs are losing players to country leagues.

Players have only recently found out, expect a shit show.

Is it worded as such ie Harper email trail? or is it ''development'' money

I remember him and the stories my uncles told me however, he was well before my time and at when I was young I was in the Sturt changerooms rather than the Panthers.

Wonder if we'll give Schoenberg a run in the SANFL tomorrow, even on reduced minutes.

Typically we don't play the sub in the SANFL, so it's rather unlikely.

Especially if he's returning to our best 22, which he probably should, seeing it's hard to really see the point of Matt Crouch in our best 22 at the moment.
