Yep.
About a half of our AFL side look like skinny/scrawny, underfed boys.
Himmelberg needs to muscle up, too.
its so true..

watching the finals games this weekend highlighted this so much.. the muscle definition, size and tone of the players in the top sides..

our lads look miles behind.

hopefully Burgess turns that around quickly.

That's the balance though for our boys being full time professionals with potential.

They're young, playing against older more experienced men.

It's no surprise our kids are being out muscled.

Don't know what happened to him
i remember a time when he was 17 when there was talk of him being a top ten pick or better. 12 months later in his draft year no one rated him
A lot of the SA boys, especially father/sons slide like that.

The boys don't slide. It's just that the poorly-judged unrealistic expectations of the faithful have to change to reflect their actual abilities.

It would be interesting to hear others' opinions on our father-son performance. I think we probably didn't need to offer any of the father-sons that we have to this stage. On this experience, I might question the uniform opinion on here that we should pursue MM.
I know nothing about him, but does our rosy opinion match the realities this time?

they sacked him as one of the line coaches for our AFL side.. because he was s**t.. then 4 weeks later re-employed him to coach our youth in the SANFL!.

Brilliant!.

”look… Sorry mate, you just havent got what it takes to coach at an elite level… but as a consolation prize, you can stick around and coach and develop our youth!”

WTF!..
And he has taken the side to the prelim. He ain’t getting sacked. You are acting like we were flogged and have struggled to win a game. This was 1 v 2. Maybe North aren’t that bad?

MM looks pretty decent, can play.

I am excited about Tyler Welsh for 2024.

Yep, there’s 7 other teams that would be happy to be playing in a prelim next week.

North as a club have seen sensational this year.

Women’s side won the flag. Men’s side have made the GF (and are favourites to win), Reserves in the GF, u/18’s deep into finals too.

We had beaten them twice this year hadnt we? We had the lead and were overrun.

In the end we were smashed in the middle and their game plan beat us in the end

The last 10 years has proven how important passion and commitment is when playing football.

The top SANFL sides have it.

It can't be replicated in a reserves team, although it is a good grounding to play against it.

I still wonder if we'd be better off going to the old system of sending our players off to the various SANFL clubs instead of a stand-alone reserves side.

Some players will buy in and elevate themselves to another level. Other players will play SANFL reserves and be forced to work for a spot in a league team while they develop.

As much as I dislike North and Norwood - I would rather they play in the SANFL Grand Final than the Crows Reserves.

I’m not saying he will be sacked at all.. i’m saying he should be sacked.

Pretty sure we flogged North earlier in the year (whyalla game?)..

What we saw today was either a disgusting, lazy effort from our players.. or they were directed to zone off their player all game regardless of how poorly it was working.

All I know is it resulted in numerous north players at any one time either being allowed to roam free of an opponent or their crows opponent simply jogging along behind them.. the amount of easy, completely uncontested possesions I saw north get today was ridiculous.

It was like that from the first quarter and nothing changed all game.. what the fxxk was Godden doing if he wasn’t watching the game, seeing this glaringly obvious issue and taking steps to change it?..

He’s a dud.. I cant believe we have a bloke we sacked becasue he was a hopeless line coach yet we then decided he’d be the best person to coach our youth!.. WTF???..

And as for “he’s taken the side to a prelim”…

Its a side made up of mostly AFL listed players for godsake playing against a whole heap of lowly payed part timers in a pissant b-grade state league!..

he damn well should be taking the side to a prelim.

It's a surprise to me that we have so many of them, which is a drafting fail.
It's not just about their height/weight, either --- the majority do not have high skill levels and that might be both sides' biggest negative.
Poor skills + lack of composure ==> chaotic ball movement (prevalent in both AFL and SANFL) = mediocrity.

I did until the heat came on and he folded. He can’t handle AFL pressure
When North stepped up in the last quarter, everything about Frampton's game faded. His confidence/output seems to go parallel with how the team is going.
Under pressure, he gets the fumbles; even worse at AFL level. It's a failure of mental strength, I reckon.

And we’d lost to Norwood twice, yet beaten them last week. Swings and round abouts.

Why was Jenny's reply to clam deleted? Either the board's getting unbelievably sanitised, there's some major complainers or I suppose she could've deleted it herself.

The 1st time we played them all of RileyThilthorpe, Darcy Fogarty, Sam Berry, Jackson Hately, Jake Soligo, Will Hammill, Andrew McPherson, Wayne Milera, Patrick Parnell, Nick Murray, Ben Davis played...none of whom played Sunday.

And the 2nd time we played them Matt Crouch was a major in who was not out there on Sunday when you consider it was our midfield that got worked over and of course none of the above yesterday.
