Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Anyone know how to do the “radial target select” when kicking? In previous games you could lock onto a player and kick to them directly. When I try use R1 + R stick it just flicks between players randomly.

According to ACCC: "You have the right to a repair, replacement or refund if your goods are faulty, unsafe, do not work or appear as they should."
Almost identical wording for services if that's what a digital download come under. Major faults being something that would stop a reasonable consumer from buying it, had they known about it beforehand.

Also should add that if it's a digital download and you are not getting a refund. It's not the fault of Big Ant but the fault of the digital stores - Playstation Store or Steam. I don't think Big Ant or Nacon have a decision about refunds, they are the developers and publishers. Not the distributers.

Soooo many ridiculous things happen in this game, I honestly don't know how!!

1. Why on earth do marks and frees suddenly become play-on;
2. Why does the AI suddenly take over from me and randomly kick to nowhere after a mark;
3. How is it possible for a player to be tackled to ground and 10secs later return to their feet to carry on; &
4. Most importantly......why does my love of footy have to keep me playing this utterly broken game?

I think I just need to bite the bullet and return it. The one great play per game does not make up for everything else that ruins it.

No, it's ridiculous how many times I find a bit of space in a stoppage in my 50 and my player decides to run through an entire animation and be tackled instead of throwing the ******* thing onto his boot.

So there is no way to throw it on quickly? Can you use clearance kick and it'll go towards goal?

Please help me I haven’t been able to play the game for 3 days and every time I try to get in it says unavailable to sign in than it displays an error code I have downloaded all the patches and tried re downloading the game twice it still doesn’t work if anyone knows how to fix pls tell me. I’m on pc

For my own sanity I had to go back and watch some of my vod from last night to make sure I still felt it was playing well when re watching. , clicked randomly and found this bit of play with a long handball to a player, and a kick inside 50.

I've been running Dynamic End camera view since the start......after watching this video i decided to swap the camera to Side normal the gameplay is so much better......

Tap R1 and it will cycle through until the one you want.

As many issues? Believe me I’ve played both and AFL 23 is much worse on the performance front. Redfall is just a bad game overall that is never going to be good no matter what they do, mainly due to the story and overall design but there are few of any major performance issues like crashes. Compare that to AFL 23 and every second person is complaining about crashes, it comes up almost on every page of this thread.

There is nothing other than baseless rumours to suggest that the Xbox delay is due to a shipping issue, however BA have experienced rejection from Microsoft in the past (see initial patches for Cricket 22), so that’s why the QA theory keeps popping up.

Yep there are as many issues depending on what you are looking for ... crashes haven't been one of them.

But braindead ai , textures failing to load and many more things make it just as unplayable than Afl23.


And of course there's nothing to the rumours but let's be real here we have a group of 5-6 people who spend all day trashing something they haven't played or are never going to play it ..
