I keep seeing posts where players are bagged for their body.

Some players just don't have much to them but seem to be handy footballers.

Is there a minimum height/weight to play in a certain position?

I'm seeing kids playing under 80kg but still doing well.

Do you need to be a 90kg midfielder or a 100kg forward to be any good these days?

Does a ruckman need to be over 202cm+ to be good?

What body types are needed in what positions for a good team?

Obviously there is a minimum height before you are too small for some positions e.g. ruck, Key Position but all sizes can work in almost all other positions.

Depends what type of forward, a key position forward does have to be 92/93kg+ IMO. There are plenty of quality mid's that are less than 90kg.

Brendan Lade, probably one of the top 3, if not the best tap ruckmen of the last decade was only 198cm.

One of the greatest things about our game is that players of all shapes can play and succeed. Of course there are a few obvious exceptions to this, you can't have short fellas being successful ruckmen.

The only real prerequisite when it comes to the bodyshape of a player is to be able to contest a footy without being easily muscled off of the ball, strong enough to lay a tackle. Some criticism of these underbuilt players is well placed, but usually it's only a matter of time before this problem is addressed.

Anyone got a pic of Robbie Flower or KB?

All skin and bones their entire career...

Jeff White was a very good ruckman and was only 195 cm. The centre circle rule hampered his big leap which he needed to make up those centimetres.
