Theres plenty of guns waiting to be picked. I hope they're not all gone by the time my next pick comes around, my next 2 picks i have will basically decide whether my team is decent or it could go all pear shaped and become the worst of the lot

Man this game better hurry up, this time next week i'll be in Melbourne, dont expect me to be rushing on to pick my players.

i think me and you are on the same wavelength. I was watching cross slide, waiting to nab him, and now have 2 great picks lined up that will decide how good my team is though.
The dynamics of this game are very different to last game. Last game all the gun mids went very early and in a fairly uniform order of talent, with the rucks going quite late, but in this game, the rucks are going early and there are still plenty of gun mids lying around, and there have been a few "reach" selections.

Hmm that is a devastating midfield beatle. Well on the way to a gun team.

I think with the rucks everyones afraid knowing that theres only a few good ones, you dont want to miss the boat and be left with a crab, knowing the extent you will be scrutinised. I used a 2nd round selection on Hille, probably not the wisest option in the end.

But it ensures my midfield is fairly solid. R: Hille - Judd - Cross ... not too shabby.

Did i forget to mention i also have chad cornes. Not sure where to play him though.

the problem is that ruckmen are so hit and miss in different seasons. For instance, hille wasn't outstanding last year, and mcintosh was, but not this year. Charman was great up until this year aswell. Lade and Brogan have declined pretty quickly aswell.

Bartel, Kerr, Swan ;)
swan was a bit of a reach. Wheres the defensive mid?
Ablett is a little better than bartel and kerr is a little better than black. Sewell and swan is pretty even but i prefer sewell because he is a defensive mid.

B______, Hudghton, _______
HB______,C.Cornes, _______
C_______, Ablett, ________
HF_______, Cloke, _________
F, _______, _______, ________

R: Charman, Sewell, Black

Not sure whether to play C.Cornes at CHB, or to draft a tradtional CHB and move him to the wing......

That's not really how the game works.. But Ablett probably > Bartel, Kerr > Black but I would pick Swan every day of the week over Sewell IMO. Sewell improved a lot but Swan is as close to elite as you can get, better all round player I reckon.

from my reckoning the aim of the game was to make a balanced team. For instance, you don't have 5 KPPs in defence even if they are all guns, you don't have all clearance players, or all outside players in a midfield either.

In terms of all round player, sewell wins for me because he plays both defensive and attacking roles well, as well as having superior disposal. If I were picking my team to play a game, i would pick sewell everyday of the week. A grade taggers are worth their weight in gold.
