Johnstone should and will have a great season this year. Feeding off a brownlow medallist and a few other top 10% in the league players should give him a stairway to heaven.

Yer, i cant see Johnstone getting enough gametime in the Brisbane midfield with proven players such as power, black, lappin, adcock, etc who have already cemented their spots in the team.
He is also very inconsistant.

Looking at those stats I can't see why he wouldn't at least match the 2006 figures but I guess that will largely depend on his form and how he is used at Brisbane. The other question will be, are there better option at that price?

Totally agree.

Lethal would not have picked him up if he wasn't planning to play him, but how will he be used? I think maybe Melbourne and Brisbane might have both been winners here. He obviously wasn't feeling it at Melbourne anymore for whatever reason and a change of this magnitude could be just the thing he needs. I'll be keeping an eye on him.

And by the way, Westhoff is the next Chris Judd.

Yer i wasnt debating whether or not he was going to get a game but he would probably get the same game time as rischitelli (about 75%) which would affect his DT score. But if you think he can recapture his 2006BF form then his gametime wont be an issue.

With all due respect I think your heart may be ruling your head. I put Hall in the same category as Neitz, Gehrig and Tredrea. Too old, too battle scarred and never likely to perform at their career best again. Why take a chance on an old, worn out body just because of a low price? You're better off going with a younger player that shows signs of moving into their career's shining years.

Three big IFs there but having a good look at him in the NAB would be a worthwhile exercise I think.

In terms of DT, Tredrea and Hall are much better than Gehrig and Neitz for the reasons bloods named. I think Tredrea might be a bit "passed it" now though. Hall is the only one of those names I can see averaging higher than low 70s in '08.

I always thought of Hall as a FF because that's where he usually is named and starts. The only time he seems to play up the ground is when he isn't getting it.

I do hope I'm wrong about him with regard to this year as there's no doubt his starting price will be extremely tempting if he manages to get back to his best.

I guess that's yet another player I will have to have a close look at in the NAB.. they're mounting up
