Alrighty lets see how it goes. Evolution was a good foundation (Not as good as Big Ants AFL Live, but good enough) to build from so lets see what they can do.

Just announced it will be released in 2019. If they build on the previous game, it should be ok.

Evolution wasn't too bad. Anything better and I'm definitely in.

They have to include a Franchise mode with a draft system. Give me that and they can take my money.

That's good to see. Glad they're building on it. They will have taken in a heap of feedback on it from Bigfooty and the 2018 patch. Looking forward to it :)

AFL Evolution 2 confirmed: Sequel to AFL video game coming in first half of 2019

A NEW AFL video game will be released in the first half of 2019.

AFL Evolution 2, a sequel to 2017 release AFL Evolution, has been confirmed by the league. It will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.

The new game will feature 15 stadiums including Ballarat’s Mars Stadium, Alice Springs’ TIO Traeger Park and Hobart’s Blundstone Arena.

The game will feature the AFL, VFL, SANFL, WAFL, NEAFL and TAC Cup competitions.

Fox Footy’s Anthony Hudson and Garry Lyon will take over commentary duties from Dennis Cometti and Matthew Richardson.

“AFL Evolution 2 will build upon the success of its predecessor, giving footy fans an enhanced AFL video game experience when it’s released in the first half of 2019,” AFL GM of commercial Kylie Rogers said.

“Digital platforms give our fans another way to deepen their engagement with the game alongside their involvement playing, watching or officiating.

“Tru Blu Entertainment and Wicked Witch Software have worked tirelessly over the past three and a half years to put in place a great foundation for future video game releases.”

AFL Players Association GM of Commercial, Marketing and Communications, Rebecca Chitty said the players were thrilled about the new game.

“AFL Evolution has been a great success since its release in 2017. We know that gaming is popular pastime amongst the players and that they really love being featured in the game,” she said.

“Digital platforms are a great way for both the AFL and players to engage with fans, so we’re excited about the release of AFL Evolution 2.”

The game will be produced by Wicked Witch Software and published by Tru Blu Entertainment. Managing director Sebastian Giompaolo spoke about the development in a press release.

“It’s a pleasure to work with the AFL on what will be our fourth major video game release. We enjoy a close working relationship with the AFL and it’s our mission to deliver the detail and intensity of the modern AFL game in arguably the best footy video game experience,” he said.

Huddo and Garry Lyon! That's going to be interesting. An AFL game without Dennis, is this the first one?

Glad to see all the ovals are being included too!

So I had a tiny bit of faith left prior to Evo 1 coming out. Been let down by TB/WW on far too many occasions. Heading into this one with zero expectations. AFL should've stepped in and given the rights back to Big Ant.

No hype for this at all. Last one was barely passable, the worst parts were the things that are the hardest to fix like the gameplay clunkiness. I suppose I'll get it and play 1 season then pack it away like every other WW game.

Wish they would give us a career mode like Premiership Coach but close to no chance on that.

I hope they can finally get the coaching career mode right for once.

Huddo is a big improvement on Cometti IMO.

Gameplay wise, Live 1 was leaps and bounds ahead of Live 2 and the Live 2 port that is commonly referred to as 'AFL Evolution'. I urge everyone to head into this one with no expectations and I reckon it'll simply be the same thing with minor cosmetic improvements. Very doubtful they'll fix the physics/gameplay. Happy to be proven wrong, but TB/WW have a terrible track record.

No Switch version, no buy. I’d prefer to play this game portably.

    So hyped!
Can’t wait for this. Good to see Huddo in the game, not as excited for Garry Lyon. Both should be an improvement upon Matthew Richardson. No Dennis is a bit of a shame but oh well. The commentary quality wasn’t great so hopefully it’s improved and it won’t be using the same stuff recorded in 2011. Extra stadiums is awesome too, but a bit of a shame that there will no longer be Subiaco Oval (judging by them taking out Footy Park)

Heading out on train or tram with the footy in your hands..on the way to the footy!

I guess there's no budget for it. WW was cheaper than Big Ants to begin with. Isn't that graphically intensive I would have thought.

AFL should fund the development more than just marketing.

If they're using the same engine for AFL live Wii I can't see the point of getting it.

It's sad but I agree, to back even further live 2 is just a port of Wii version of AFL live.
