My final thoughts without sounding overly negative as people seem to think anyone with a poor opinion of the game is a hater.

Against the AI the game is rubbish. It is just a kick to one on one fest which they mostly win. Spoiling is so clunky that it rarely is effective in what seems to be a certain marking animation for the AI.

Set shots require no skill. No effort was put into making what is an art of the game feel challenging or rewarding. Yeah judge the wind which barely affects footy these days mind you and pull the stick back. C'mon WW make it fun.

Kick ins are shocking!

Game sounds are so poor. The crowd. Sound of the kicking, tackling, marking are all terrible. It's not hard to replicate accurate sound.

I had a lot of fun online and feel the game was how it was supposed to feel and play in this mode.

There are great moments such as handball chains and when you can actually hit a player with a good kick into space.

Players faces look excellent.

It's a 5/10 game.

Finished with 35 touches 8 marks and 5 tackles in my 1st game (10 min quarters) though my direct opponent Ziebell had 40 touches with 26 marks and 19 tackles.

Richo's commentary is so bad though lol, he said "Grundy is a slippery customer who you cannot afford to have any space" and said the momentum was shifting towards North as they kicked a goal reducing the margin from 67 to 61 points with 7 minutes to play.

I had "im tipping carlton"
With 1 min left in my forward 50 when I was 40 points up.

For those that bought from JB but want to return this PoS:

1) Go to EB Games
2) Buy a copy, request it to be sealed
3) Take sealed copy from EB Games to JB HiFi with your JB receipt and return it
4) Take opened copy from JB HiFi back to EB Games with your EB receipt, and return it under their 7 day policy

Enjoy.

Well it seems like there are game-breaking bugs and horrible mechanics but yes, I'm really worried about slightly out of date jumpers [emoji14]

Really not sure if I'll bother buying it now.
That's my OCD for you. Hopefully they attempt to fix these bigger issues I'm hearing about, but I'm not very confident that there will any drastic fixes.

As much as I try, I just can't overlook the broken marking system against the CPU.

If they could just patch that, it might actually be a reasonable game. Until then the game is just frustratingly annoying, I am not sure how it wasn't picked up before it was released.

It's almost like the marking is just a cheap way to make the game more difficult against the CPU.

A few things that are really stuffin annoying:

They really need to sort out the be a pro glitch where you're off for the whole third quarter.

And it's annoying that you get subbed off at all because no one else does. As soon as you drop below 80% stamina, you're gone. I think it's because the AI players barely run at all. I mean the mids just stand in the square all game unless there's a stoppage.

Your player positioning getting reset after every free kick, goal, behind or stoppage. I was down in defensive 50 one game and one of my players gave a free away, so I got reset back to the centre square, even though I'm a mid. So instead of filling the hole I'm back there, and guess where the next kick goes? It's so frustrating.

****, regret buying this thing for 80 ****in bucks.

Stupid campaigner at the shop didn't give me a receipt either. ****ing hell.

A lot of people will be taking this back to EB next week. I'm confident of that.

This game is like a frozen meal. Looks way better on the box than it actually is and by the time you actually get to eat it you realise you've gotten what you paid for. Cheap crap.

I wonder how much of a budget wicked witch had for this. It's AFL live 2 with much better graphics and some gameplay tweaks. The stench of live 2 still lingers underneath however.

You sound surprised from that, it was obvious from the video where the GWS players were playing the game that it was a incremental upgrade from Live 2.

The sad thing is that Live 2 might actually be more playable because it doesn't feature the CPU marking problem.

Can you just adjust the game sliders for marking a bit higher, hence, making it easier to mark the ball??

Did they not have play testers? Seems a lot of these issues should have been caught early.
- Marking
- Commentary names stuff up
- Stats out of whack
- Random CPU misses from goal square
- Player position resetting after a free
- The whole fatigue/simulate thing

Although the problems are less noticeable when you're shit talking your mates.

Ive had another few games after taking a break. Once you work out the marking the game is alot more playable. Ive had some pieces of play that look like im watching on tv (perfect ruck tap, couple of quick handballs then hitting a leading foward). This game is definatley alot more open and flowing than the tackle fest games before it

Given I live in Switzerland where I:

a) have very few friends who would be interested playing local multi-player with me
b) won't be able to find an online game without lag

I think I may give this a pass for now. I'll keep my eye on it for a patch or a drop in price.

Gee, I really wish my 360 version of AFL Live 1 worked (can't install the DLC which was fairly essential from memory).
