Does this silly game let you turn autosave feature off?
I just got injured in the qualifying final and I'm out for two weeks.
We are in the prelim at home vs Hawks and if we win I'll be fit for grand final, but if we lose it's season over.
I'd be pretty ****ing mad not to play the grand final, so as dodgy as it is I wanna make sure we win so I can play.

Of course I get an injury in the finals when I didn't have an injury all season.

Simmed it and we beat Hawks by 8 so I played in the GF.
Turned it on hard but it was still too easy, despite getting "rested" for half the game I got 26 poss and 6 goals.
Got the norm smith, brownlow, rising star but couldn't get the B+F.

Got offers from Freo, Eagles, Bulldogs, Carlton, Sydney, Hawthorn, Port, North and Adelaide.

Tight ass Freo offering only 85k and a 2 year deal.
Everyone else offering 160-240k and 3-5 year deals.

Will stick with Freo I think but I would like to do a VFL/TAC season and go to a different club.

Can anyone consistently win on Legend? In my career I've lost 5 times by 80+ on 2.5 minute quarters, but I beat Brisbane. Hard is too easy so I'm not sure how much longer this game has left in it for me.

I feel I'd be in with a chance if the AI couldn't bump me 100 metres off the ball. I laid a bump next to the ball and got a 5 week suspension.

You're talking about coaching career? If so it doesn't save until after you exit the result screen, so you can see if you won or not, then just quit the game and restart it if you lost.

Pretty good after a few days out. I wonder what the actual numbers are.

Seems WW and Tru Blu managed to dupe a lot of people with this one.

Their problem is that sales will diminish quite significantly now, mainly because those who did not buy it in the first week because they were waiting to see how it turned out would be deterred from doing so after seeing what a shoddy mess it is. The strategy of making people spend $100 on a broken product that they've been given barely any info about, and then promising to fix it only if more people buy it, doesn't seem effective to me. The momentum won't keep up, because those initial sales are only generated by virtue of the fact that it's an AFL game. They'll be seeing a lot of return numbers of those initial copies, and likely not a lot of sales afterwards, as people's opinions have soured on the game so severely. If the game was somewhat good, that would have spread and no doubt more people would be willing to give it a go.

lol. Asking for more sales for an "enhancement patch"

Joke of a company. Joke of a game.
This goes to show why many of us were desperate for Big Ant to develop AFL games rather than Wicked Witch. Big Ant does all that they can in their foundation games to set up the future of the franchise.

Sure DBC17 had lots of problems at launch, but in retrospect those issues were because they were too ambitious with stuff like the logo creator, stuff that will benefit the series (and other Big Ant games) long into the future.

Bigant still working on a patch for DBC17. Basically a new game with patch 4 and it wasn't predicated on sales.

They also didn't rip gamemodes from an iOS game.

Pro: Patch coming soon. :)
Con: If it hasn't made a profit now, I doubt it will in the future. (The reviews have come out at they range from "Ok, This is a step in the right direction. Needs a few fixes 6.5/10" to "Absolute Cashgrab, Try Harder 4/10." Those won't really sell a game.)

Where do we go now? Does Wicked Witch get the next game or do we see a repeat of AFL Live and they get dropped for an even cheaper dev team next game because AFL Evolution didn't make any money?

Maybe they should try making a game that isn't garbage and see how that sells.

If they don't have a lot of money to work with, maybe they could consider narrowing their focus. Rather than having a bunch of different game modes, and not doing any of them well, as well as 80+ teams including the AFLW, they could instead focus on just getting the gameplay functional and then build from there. Unfortunately, it's probably too late for that now that they've cultivated the expectation that their games have to have all this stuff.

The thing is that the different game modes or 80+ teams wouldn't have even cost that much in Evolution since they were all ripped straight from previous games.

We might have different opinions on how the game did come out but I can agree with that, The game foundations should have been the main focus but the problem was that no-one knew what they truly wanted. Half the People wanted plenty of game features, Half the people wanted a good game engine before any features were added.

I would have been fine if I got a decent game engine and a create a team feature but some people wanted the Be A Pro, The Coaching Mode, All the teams from the AFLW, U-18 and State Leagues, The whole sha-bang.

What we got in my eyes was a game that was much better than AFL Live 2 but still has it's frustrating moments because they didn't have the time or money to fully go in and make sure everything was the best it could be.

If they can continue to patch this and fix bugs that can realistically be fixed. (Engine Glitches, Commentary Glitches, The Interchange Glitch.) I'm personally willing to give Wicked Witch another go. They did well with this considering the expectations that they were going to create another 3/10 stinker with barely any work put into it, They really put a lot of work into this to fix up what made AFL Live 2 so bad but they do need to fix the stuff that a patch won't fix like Animations, Commentary, improve the Create a Team and Be A Pro modes & tweak the AI a bit in the next game otherwise, I won't be very happy.

Holy shit. I just played online for the first time and what a ****ing joke. First of all, Wicked Witch, your online infrastructure is a disaster. I have a great connection, yet no matter who I played there would be multiple moments where the ball teleports over the field. My favourite moments were when I won a free kick in the middle of the ground with Shaun Burgoyne, then instantly teleported to the other guy having a shot on goal, and another time where I fisted the ball through for a behind, only for the umpire to say I ran over the mark and then the opposition were kicking from the square.

Secondly, who's ****ing bright idea was it to let people take custom teams online? It's lucky I'm able to mark like 90% of kicks and most other people have no clue, otherwise, I'd never even get close to winning. Every dickhead just uses a team of 22 99 OVR created players and completely ruins the fun of the game. Genuinely idiotic.

As it stands, the only way to truly have fun in this game is to play against your mates in person. Everything about online is a joke, and the AI, with garbage like the goal kicking and free kicks, makes offline play a dumpster fire most of the time. But go ahead and tell me how this is a great foundation and we should be thanking Wicked Witch for making easily the worst game released in 2017.

From the Game Informer Facebook page:

Our AFL Evolution review isn't yet finished (we weren't provided with review code before launch), but our initial impressions aren't great.

Visual glitches like teams entering the field before a game by clipping through the stadium are routine. The player A.I. leaves a lot to be desired, and the commentary is woefully stilted ("THANKS RICHO! TODAY IT'S [Hawthorn] VERSUS [Gold Coast] AT THE [...scg]. IT'S GONNA BE [a scorcher]".

If you want to see one of the worst recurring (admittedly pretty funny) visual glitches, check out Dave's Twitter account - @DaveMilbo.

We'll have a full review in a future issue, but early impressions don't bode that well...

What?

DBC17 was a disaster and I liked the game but it was a disaster at launch and Evolution is nowhere near as buggy

So big ant made a buggy mess because they were "too ambitious" but get a free pass because a stadium editor is gonna be a great benefit for the series in the future yet WW cop shit because they implemented be a pro ?

This is exactly what Evolution is. The features are there, now they need to built upon. Its much better in terms of features compared to AFL Live 1, and has better game play too (outside of the bugs, obviously), and this is coming from a BigAnt fan.
