Finally got the kick a grubber goal achievement. All this time I thought it was kick it along the ground but had failed to get it even though I used both A and B while the ball was not in possession but on the ground itself. But nope the grubber kick is where you've got the ball, you kick it but instead of the air ball you've kicked it deliberately on the ground.
Grubber kick is a rugby term that they literally just copy and pasted from their rugby game. They're called dribble kicks in footy, so how hard would it have been to have put in the proper name?

About as hard as it would have been to get the commentators to say mark rather than catch.

The one big positive to me in this game is difficulty. Easy mode and I win by 70-80 but on Medium its much closer and especially against the better teams. Up to Round 9 in my Magpies season and have dropped 2 games (GWS and Geelong) and scraped through the Anzac Day game and Round 2 vs Sydney

I get a bit of lag from time to time and I think that makes marking online downright impossible, since the timing needs to be more perfect than Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

Seems bizarre why this happens so much to me. I doubt they would have written a script for Cometti. Just got him to lay down some lines. Why would he be saying catch instead of mark? Unless it was meant for handball receives... who knows.

It's a matter of getting/being good at the game to make it fun.

Although after a 40 win streak online, reaching top 20 and constantly winning by 60-120 points. It starts losing its touch.

I was raised on it being called a grubber kick, not a dribble kick. Grubber is a correct term.

Yep me too!
''Twas always grubber in the 80s.
Dribble is pretty new and I reckon has been popularised by Dunstall and co.
Dribble is more of a verb.

Didn't Aker have another meaning for a dribble(r) going there for a while?

Does anyone else notice that all the simmed results are really close in career mode? Like, all other eight matches have margins of under two goals. There really needs to be more variation.
Yep. As I was playing through my season I noticed every single team that I hadn't played yet had a percentage of between 98-102.

Got the achievements for winning the Norm Smith medal in a grand final AND also for coming from behind to lead the game at 3 quarter time (Legend difficulty), won it by 4 goals in the end. Didn't get the achievement for being undefeated :( Thanks Hawthorn :( - my only loss for the season. Might have won but it was the game where my player injured his hamstring (out for 4 weeks too). We finished first, they finished second and I was dreading facing them, I won the QF, they lost theirs... which now meant a possible PF showdown. They lost, so I didn't have to play them..... but I wound up playing Richmond (who were reasonably tough in the QF). I started off strong, but tapered off with the aim of getting the achievement at the end of the third quarter. Let them build up a mini lead, then I powered through them and didn't look back........ until I was benched in the final quarter.

Finding the pro mode pretty easy, my defending is still crap, don't get as many tackles as I'd like. However I've built up the player enough where I can stroll around without really needing to use LT for sprinting - thus I don't tire out as quickly and can play through most quarters. Racking up anywhere from 20-40 disposals per game (yes like Ablett I handball a lot to pad out my stats haha). Depending on my disposal stats I usually have anywhere from 2 disposals to 4-6 disposals per goal scored.

Had a cracking game in Career mode vs Freo. They kicked 6.1 to my 0.3 in the first quarter (this was on hard I'll add), fought back across 3 quarters and kicked the 3-point winner with Pendlebury running into an open 45 with no time left. Reverse catch-up mode come at me!

Every Richmond fan reading this post just got PTSD.

For me, medium difficulty in 5 minute quarters, season mode, is the most realistic game mode. The most frustrating part are the kick ins. Learned it was better to use the clearance kick button instead of the drop punt button.

If you know how to mark, just go the torpedo down the guts. You'll have a goal in 3 kicks.
