I also have a question to ask, will all the grounds be licensed under their current name, e.g Etihad Stadium; or will be they named like as were they were in previous games, e.g Docklands?

It's a fully licensed game, so will have all the official names.

Does it matter about editing current player stats?

Yeah.. Once the season is over and a new season starts and your young players are still rated like 55/100 when they have improved out of sight is frustrating IMO.
in FIFA you have the ability to make any transfers to clubs to keep team lists up to date. I hope this is incorporated to the game, particularly if it does come out prior to the 2011 season

Why do you all care about trivial things such as stats?

Player attributes are definitely not trivial, they directly affect the gameplay and will be the difference between say Gary Ablett getting the contested ball rather than Michael Quinn.

I would prefer for them to get everything about the game play right first and then look at stat editing after etc. I would also like to be able to edit stats, but if they do plan to bring out a new game every 1-2 years, it wouldn't bother me a whole lot if we can't.

Gameplay is obviously the most important thing, but you can only ask so many questions about it, as it would be very difficult to answer without visual aids!

And your right, if keeping editing out of the game means we get a new one every year with improved features, then i am all for that!

I want to make sure that you get the good and bad news - I know I am going to get flamed here....

There is no draft. We cannot take photos of draftees or license them before they get into the AFL.

You can add players to teams, swap players from team to team, or make up a team of superstars if you wish - but you can't draft them.

Player stats will be editable, their likenesses will not.

Players that you create will look as good as the snippets you've seen here. It will be harder for you to make the likeness as good as we have, but they certainly will look "human" and will not be generic.

So im guessing there is no career mode, just a season mode which spans over one year. Cause otherwise players would retire and their would be no new players to come in and replace them.

^^ IMO that's very good news

not really bothered by no draft, however with that info you would assume that there's no "career" mode. Again though, not too fussed, as the rest of the editable options allows you to have your custom seasons etc.

Without going into too much detail, if players retire, you can retire them. If draftees come in then you can create them (or swap them from club to club if they exist already). Stat's will be remembered from year to year (based on your gameplay).

Bumbed about the draft big time, but understand the legal issues. Did you consider making generic draftees and going down the route most other sport games do?

So does that mean no career/dynasty modes beyond 1 season? It then makes sence why you'd posed questions about making all teams able to win the premiership if that's the case.

Still jacked about the create a player stuff with low generic crap.

Thanks for the info again......still bumbed.

Is there potential for draftee's\stats to be updated by DLC?

Still quite unclear if there will be multiple seasons. I really hope this is the case, as it would be great to empire build etc etc. I really think this is something people will want, e.g. Richmond fans building a team over a period of 5 years with their focus on finding players that are complimentary to Riewodlt Cotchin Martin etc

Perhaps if you put in a whole heap of generic rookies, without the AFL names already associated (e.g. I remember getting a Clive Wirrapanda) would be all right?
Perhaps you could even do it NBA 2k10 style, and have an option for the draft to be created by other players and use it as DLC as roster swapping (which could be the case seeing as how you have attributes that can be edited)

I really hope there is multiple seasons/dynasty mode. If this is the case the list management has to be correct IMO

That is the plan, as long as MS and Sony allow it we will do it.

There are multiple seasons and stat's, premierships, etc.. will be remembered going forward.

I'm guessing it also depends on the release schedule of the next release as well. You wouldn't want the older release to steal potential sales from say the AFL 2012 version?

So, wait? There will be no draft, because the new players coming in won't be licensed? What about drafting fake players after you have finished the season?

You would just create their stat's and likeness based on the real players drafted if you wished. There is no draft but you can simulate the result of the draft.

I would sincerely hope that we would add enough features to make people want to buy the next release rather than merely relying on the rosters and new players.

One of the other big issues with the other AFL games, is the score; playing full quarters.
Right now, I'm simulating a game on AFL 2005, and the score is already '153-131- 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter, with someone already kicking 10 goals. Will this be fixed?

There will be a game length that will be ideal, ie the scores will be realistic, but if you limit or expand the game time then scores will of course vary.

Creating your own comp. should be a really good feature.
Hopefully, you can edit how the team's are knocked out and so far.
And limit how many team's will play in the Comp. :)

Kind've just jumping in here but is their a rough release date for this title?
